One man proudly holding an American flag told protesters outside Portland’s Federal Courthouse that “none of you guys represent black lives.”
The black man stood in defiance of angry rioters Sunday who attempted to break down fencing in front of the federal property as another night of unrest unfolded in the Oregon city for the sixth straight week. As the fencing around the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse was torn down and rioters set up barricades, one man stood his ground by kneeling in counter protest.

“If you stand for justice, come here, stand with me!” the man said in a video captured and shared by Jorge Ventura, a reporter with The Daily Caller.
“Stand with me because I’m here for justice, I’m not here to tear down this f—ing fence, I’m not here to spray paint. It’s going on every day! If you don’t want to get gassed, stop … It has to stop!” he shouted, as a few other people stood alongside him.
“None of you guys represent black lives!” he yelled back after some in the crowd shouted obscenities at him.

His urging of rioters to “occupy the streets” instead of destroying property seemed to fall on deaf ears, however, as the vandalism continued, as seen in videos shared by Daily Caller’s Shelby Talcott.

A man seen in another video appeared beside the flag-holder, using a megaphone to tell the crowd that their demonstrations have “nothing to do with black lives.”
“This is how you destroy them. There’s kids out here, there’s animals out here that can’t protect themselves. There’s older people out here that can’t protect themselves,” he said of the crowds. “These fences come down, they [officers] come out.”

At one point, a woman stood in front of the man holding the flag as things escalated and a fight broke out in the crowd.

Those trying to inject calm and common sense into the protest were soon overrun by the rioters who went on to tear down the fence.

Protesters tried to use the fencing to barricade doors at the Justice Center and Federal Courthouse, according to Portland Police who eventually declared the incident a riot and cleared everyone out.
This event has been declared a riot. Move to the east now. If you do not move to the east you will be subject to arrest or use of force to include crowd control munitions. Leave the area now.

“As the crowd was dispersed, several people in the crowd were arrested and officers were able to extinguish the fire,” police said in a statement. “Portland Police did not use any CS gas.”
