Instagram personality Larry Henry praised President Donald Trump for being “like the people” and credits him with turning his own life around.
The community activist known as KingFace spoke with actor Isaiah Washington in a Fox Nation interview about how Trump inspired him through his background and his ability to overcome “regular human being situations” like everyone else.
The rapper spoke on Fox Nation’s “Isaiah Washington: Kitchen Talk,” about his own past and the mistakes he made along the way, noting how he feels he can relate to Trump.
“I mean, he comes from the same surroundings as me,” Henry said, responding to a question about why he supports the president. “I think he’s like the people. I think he is the people … I think he understands the people.”
“He comes from Queens, New York. He made mistakes, like he’s cheated … you know, he lived a certain lifestyle and he was able to become president,” Henry added.
“I did the same thing. I’ve cheated. I’ve did things. I’ve done bad things. So … when you look at a country where everybody wants to be politically correct … the fact that he’s going through regular human being situations and able to overcome it and be the president of the United States, I think that’s admirable.”
“It makes people like me feel like I could be president,” Henry told Washington.
“I felt like Obama made black people feel like they could become president,” he said. “When Donald Trump became president, it made the whole world feel like they could become president.”
He noted that Trump’s journey can be an inspiration to people from all different kinds of backgrounds, going on to recount how he was in a very different place a few years ago.
“Jail, death, because that’s the route I was going,” Henry said.
“You were okay with that?” Washington asked.
“We have to accept the realities that come with the decisions that you make in life. If you choose to run around with gang members and guns or whatever, or doing anything illegal, you have to know these are certain things that come with that,” he said. “There’s death, there’s jail.”
Asked if he was raised this way or it was a choice, Henry replied that it was a lifestyle choice he made through his decisions.
The conservative activist and founder of the D.A.D. Project has been a vocal supporter of the president, defending him against accusations of racism and other criticism leveled at him, proudly wearing a MAGA hat.
Bro, they said your #MAGA hat is on too tight! 😂 It don’t even matter bro because it’s still #FreshFacts no matter who tells it. 💯 🇺🇸 @KingfaceF1 pic.twitter.com/Uj8f1wHufb

His talk with Washington about how Trump did what Obama did not sparked plenty of responses on Twitter.
I love @IWashington. A brave man doing what every single American should be doing.
Calling evil out where it stands.
