Senator Ted Cruz schooled his former Harvard Law School professor — the left-wing Laurence Tribe — after the 78-year-old career academic launched a sexist invective against White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who’s also a Harvard Law alum.
Cruz said it’s a shame that Tribe has been destroyed from the inside-out by his pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Cruz added that Tribe is bitter because he was repeatedly passed over for a Supreme Court spot by Democrat presidents.
The brouhaha erupted after Tribe trashed McEnany for defending President Trump’s position that he has “absolute immunity” from criminal prosecution while he remains in office.
McEnany cited Alexander Hamilton and Supreme Court Justices Samuel Alito and Brett Kavanaugh in her response.
“It’s almost as if folks don’t understand a legal term of art. ‘Absolute immunity’ is a legal term of art,” Kayleigh explained.

Rather than refute McEnany’s statements by offering thoughtful analysis, Tribe resorted to the usual left-wing tactic of launching an ad hominem attack (this is something leftists constantly accuse Trump of doing).
Laurence Tribe snidely tweeted: “It’s embarrassing that Kayleigh has a Harvard Law degree.”
Constitutional-law attorney Ron Coleman — who specializes in the First Amendment — fired back at Tribe by replying: “Not as embarrassing as the fact that you are an emeritus professor there. Not even close.”

Ted Cruz reacted to Tribe’s misogynistic put-down by tweeting: “You were once a good teacher. It’s embarrassing to see you now publicly belittling the intelligence of your young, female former students. I don’t know Kayleigh, but her answer cited Justice Alito, Justice Kavanaugh and Alexander Hamilton. Which one embarrasses you?”

Tribe reacted by tweeting: “You embarrass me, Ted Cruz. As does Kayleigh’s misappropriation of Hamilton and Justices like Alito, who agreed with Chief Justice Roberts that Trump’s absolute immunity claim was bogus, a point on which SCOTUS was 9-0.”
You embarrass me, @tedcruz — no “young female,” though you are my former student. As does Kayleigh’s misappropriation of of Hamilton and Justices like Alito, who agreed with CJ Roberts that Trump’s absolute immunity claim was bogus, a point on which SCOTUS was 9-0. https://t.co/IACRyv766f

Ted Cruz fired back that Tribe is a broken man, thanks to his Trump Derangement Syndrome, which has addled his brain — and his legal acumen.
Cruz tweeted: “Larry, Trump has broken you. You used to be able to engage in principled debate—as you and I did in your ConLaw class. Now, you’re a rich, bitter, angry Leftist. And you wouldn’t have directed that snide condescension at Kayleigh were she not a young, blonde woman.”
Cruz continued: “As you attack Kayleigh, it’s also just obnoxious for a teacher to be insulting his former students. Acting like an angry sixth-grader. I know your feelings were hurt that multiple Dem Presidents passed you over for SCOTUS, but you could try to show a modicum of class.”

Tribe did not reply to Cruz, but was clearly triggered, as evidenced by his nonstop tweet storm howling over Trump’s taxes.
Tribe then tried to goad President Trump into a Twitter beef. Tribe wrote: “Do you agree with your buddy [Ted Cruz] that my critique of [McEnany] for how she defended you was misogynistic or otherwise offensive? I dare you to defend Kayleigh by attacking me. I suspect you’re much too cowardly to take me on.”

President Trump did not take the bait and ignored Tribe’s attempted ambush. That appears to have enraged Tribe even more.
Reminder: This is what happened the last time a leftist tried to “embarrass” President Trump over his taxes: MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow humiliated herself.
Maddow’s “big scoop” revealed that President Trump had paid $38 million in taxes on income of $153 million in 2005.
That debunked a ridiculous New York Times story claiming that he paid NO income taxes between 1995 and 2013.
