Canadians marching to the U.S. Embassy celebrated Canada Day by expressing love for their country as well as for the leader of their neighbor to the south.
Chants of “I Love Trump” rose up from a gathering of over 1,500 Canadians who marched to the U.S. Embassy from Parliament Hill in Ottowa on Wednesday, cheering for President Donald Trump while chanting “Trudeau has got to go,” referring to their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Video footage posted by the RAIR Foundation showed the crowd waving Canadian and veteran flags, holding signs and chanting as they made their way from the home of the Parliament of Canada to the Embassy of the United States in Ottawa.

Many participating in the march could be heard chanting “we want Trump” in videos posted on social media from the events on the federal holiday commemorating the national day of Canada when the nation’s original three provinces joined together as on in 1867.

Trudeau addressed the nation in a video message, noting that the “last few months have been difficult for all Canadians” due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“What makes Canada special is not the belief that this is the best country in the world – it’s the knowledge that we could be, and that we will keep working to build that country. Because no challenge we face will be too great, if we face it together,” the prime minister said.
Canada is an amazing place to call home, and its people make it even better. We’re always there for each other – in good times and bad – and we always will be. And that’s worth celebrating. Happy Canada Day, everyone! https://t.co/SDC41cWOY0 pic.twitter.com/2OKNyxGEqe

“Canada and the United States have always been bound by a joint responsibility and a commitment to manage our shared border and resources. Through the years, we have become increasingly intertwined with strong economic, cultural, and people‑to-people connections. The United States looks forward to strengthening our robust bilateral relationship with Canada,” the president wrote.
“On this important occasion, the United States wishes you and the people of Canada a prosperous year ahead,” Trump added.
Some on social media were apparently not feeling the Canadian love for the U.S. President.
On this Canada Day, just want to tell my American friends that we stand with you in this fight to return America to its rightful place. We love you & what you are fighting for and we know that you are better than Trump. The good will triumph. We fight together until the end. 🇨🇦🇺🇸

Thank you Canadians for doing the thing we, conservatives, can’t do in our own country without being attacked and harassed by the left.
