CNN became the target of shame and mockery on the internet over the hypocrisy of the move to erect a “wall” to protect its Atlanta headquarters.
The network that applauded protesters who chanted “build bridges not walls” as President Donald Trump had barely even been sworn into office, and that referred to recent civil unrest as “mostly peaceful” protests, was slammed on social media after putting up a fence to protect its offices.

Julio Rosas, a senior writer at Townhall, shared a photo of the new addition on Twitter Friday.
The cable news network became a target the so-called “peaceful” protests a few weeks back as demonstrators using the excuse of outrage over the death of George Floyd attacked the Atlanta headquarters, smashing windows, vandalizing the sign and reportedly hurling firecrackers inside.

While CNN continued to promote sympathetic views on Black Lives Matter rioters and the move to defund the police, they didn’t seem to have a problem when the Atlanta Police Department was needed to save its headquarters. The network’s hypocrisy is also evident in light of the four years of attacks on Trump and his call for stronger immigration laws and protecting America’s borders.
CNN host Chris Cuomo has repeatedly bashed the president over his border wall, both on the air and on social media. The network seemed obsessed with the plan from the outset, even sending White House correspondent Jim Acosta to the U.S.–Mexico border in a failed stunt to make Trump look bad.
With the outrage over the shooting death of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta last week, CNN is apparently bracing for more “peaceful” protests by erecting their own protective wall, even as large crowds already began gathering outside the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta on Friday.

“WaLLs dOn’T wOrK,” Republican U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona mocked CNN in a tweet over its protective barrier.
“I thought CNN said walls were racist?” Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson tweeted.
CHOP has a Wall. CNN Atlanta has a Wall. Our border does not.

Trump senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis wondered why CNN felt a need to protect its building from those it classified as “peaceful protesters” just a few weeks before amid the George Floyd demonstrations.
“Hi @brianstelter. Would you like to comment about your new wall? Why are you keeping out peaceful protestors?” Ellis asked CNN host Brian Stelter whom she recently eviscerated on live TV, telling him: “You’re not a journalist, Brian. You’re an activist.”
Other Twitter users also joined in the pile on, blasting the irony and hypocrisy at CNN.
The hypocrisy 😂😂

They don’t “work” against illegal cheap labor. They do work against “peaceful protestors” they have been calling the rioters every other broadcast.

Shouldn’t they be building bridges instead?

A barrier bordering their HQ?
Protecting their homeland of sorts? Interesting.— Sandy 〽️ (@RightGlockMom) June 19, 2020
If CNN was really interested in a solution, they would have built bridges instead of walls in order to understand the feelings of the rioters that vandalized their property https://t.co/aFs3zFdWy7

Maybe Jim Acosta can do a story on that….
