Mich AG takes her rage out on Ford, threatens plant after ‘petulant’ Trump took off mask for part of tour

President Donald Trump called out Michigan’s “Wacky Do Nothing” Attorney General Dana Nessel after she unloaded on him for not wearing a mask on a tour of a Ford plant in the state.

Trump noted that he did, in fact, wear a mask for part of his visit to the automaker’s plant in Ypsilanti on Thursday, and photos show him with one on for part of the tour. But Nessel had a meltdown over his decision to remove it at one point, likening the president to a “petulant child who refuses to follow the rules” during an interview with CNN.

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer spoke with the attorney general after Trump’s visit, following up on her earlier remarks on “New Day” when she said, “if he fails to wear a mask, he’s going to be asked not to return to any enclosed facility inside our state.”

“Is the president no longer welcome in Michigan?” Blitzer asked Nessel on Thursday.

“Well, I will say speaking on behalf of my department and my office – That’s right! That’s exactly right,” the Democrat replied.

“I mean today’s events were extremely disappointing and yet totally predictable,” Nessel continued.

“In Michigan that is the law. A court just upheld that,” she added, referring to coronavirus rules required of Michigan residents by order of Michigan’s Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

“So the president is like a petulant child who refuses to follow the rules. And this is no joke!” Nessel continued. “He is portraying the worst possible message to those who can’t afford to be on the receiving end of terrible misinformation and it’s very, very concerning.”

“I think the message he’s sending is the same message he sent when he took office in 2017, which is, ‘I don’t care about you, I don’t care about your health, I don’t care about your welfare, I don’t care about anyone but myself,'” she ranted.

Naturally the uproar continued on social media where the left continued the narrative.

Trump, who has tested negative for the coronavirus, did wear a mask, and even goggles, during part of his tour and photos emerged of him doing so.

Trump told reporters during the tour: “I had one on before…but I didn’t want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it.”

Nessel’s grandstanding continued when Blitzer asked her about consequences for the Ford plant for allowing Trump to remove his mask, in violation of Ford’s policy, Michigan law and CDC guidelines.

“I think we’re going to have to have a very serious conversation with Ford… I would hate to have Ford shut its doors again because somebody got infected by this president,” she said.

Trump lashed out on Twitter at Nessel for her attack on him and for viciously threatening the Ford factory which had been repurposed to make ventilators and personal protective equipment during the pandemic.

He followed up with another tweet warning that Nessel “should not be taking her anger and stupidity out on Ford Motor — they might get upset with you and leave the state, like so many other companies have.”

In an earlier interview with CNN, Nessel had warned about the president wearing a mask and following the coronavirus guidelines put in place in Michigan and the Ford plant. She had also forewarned the president in an open letter before his arrival.

“If we’ve learned nothing over the last several years of President Trump in the White House, it’s that he doesn’t have the same level of legal accountability as everybody else,” she told Alisyn Camerota.

Nessel should probably be looking at her own priorities. While she has been busy bashing the president and claiming he is endangering people, elderly residents in a nursing home were being violently beaten in her own state. A nursing home employee was arrested this week after a video emerged of brutal attacks he perpetrated against frail, helpless seniors in a Michigan facility.

“Is this even possible to believe? Can this be for real?” Trump tweeted in response to the posted video. “Where is this nursing home, how is the victim doing?”
