Lawmakers react as Tesla pulls out of California over extended lockdowns: ‘F**k Elon Musk’

A clueless Democrat channeled fellow leftist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka – Bronx Bolshevik) by cheering the news that Elon Musk plans to move Tesla out of California to protest the left-wing state’s draconian coronavirus shutdowns.

San Diego Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez defiantly tweeted: “F*ck Elon Musk.”

Gonzalez was reacting to Musk’s shocking revelation that he’s pulling Tesla and its numerous jobs out of California after the state’s extended lockdown crippled manufacturing.

Tesla employs 20,000 people in California, and 48,000 worldwide.

Musk said he also plans to sue California because “unelected and ignorant” health officials are violating his Constitutional freedoms.

“Frankly, this is the final straw,” Elon tweeted. “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in California.”

California has a population of 39.5 million but has so far recorded 2,678 deaths attributed to COVID-19. Yet it is locked down as restrictively as coronavirus epicenter New York State. Does that make any sense?

Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez’s ignorant reaction was reminiscent of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s hare-brained protests that caused Amazon to scrap plans to open a factory in New York.

AOC’s protests resulted in the loss of 25,000 high-paying jobs to the blue-collar borough of Queens.

Three weeks ago, Ocasio-Cortez was widely slammed for posting a tone-deaf tweet where she gleefully celebrated the collapse in oil prices and accompanying job losses for the energy industry.

Musk’s plan to exit California and move Tesla to red-state Texas was welcomed by Texans, including Congressman Dan Crenshaw, who tweeted: “Texas gets better every day. Good conservative principles make good governance, and attract the best and the brightest. The future is happening in Texas.”

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas was also thrilled by the news.

Cruz tweeted: “Come to Texas! We would welcome Tesla HQ in Texas. We love jobs and Texans very much want to open up and get back to work (while still staying safe and following sound science). We make lots of cars and trucks in Texas, and we’d love more!!”

Investment manager Ross Gerber tweeted that “California is the worst possible place to have a car factory… for many reasons. Not to mention the Bay Area. Tesla can save a ton moving to Texas.”

One Twitter user agreed.

He summed up the growing CalExit (California Exit) movement by noting: “Commiefornia is the worst state to have any business in. CA should become an independent republic based on their beloved model of “democratic socialism” so that more productive people would pack up and leave. I’m all in for #CalExit.”

Last month, Musk torched the extended, one-size-fits-all coronavirus lockdowns, saying they’re “fascist” and unconstitutional.

The billionaire founder of Tesla and SpaceX said: “The extension of the shelter-in-place — or I would call it, forcibly imprisoning people in their homes against all their Constitutional rights — [is] breaking people’s freedoms in ways that are horrible and wrong. What the f**k!”

Musk added: “If somebody wants to stay in their house, that’s great. They should be allowed to stay in the house, and they should not be compelled to leave. But to say that they CANNOT leave their house, and they will be arrested if they do — this is fascist! This is not democratic. Give people back their g**damn freedom.”

Meanwhile, research confirms that states run by Democrats have the worst economies. A 2019 report entitled “Rich States, Poor States” shows that states run by Republicans have the strongest economies.

rich states poor states democrat run cities

In contrast, many of the worst-performing states are run by Democrats — meaning Dems control either the governor’s office, the legislature, or both.

In 2019, eight of the top 10 state economies were run by Republicans. In contrast, 9 of the bottom 10 were run by Democrats. Coincidence?
