West Virginia’s Gov. Jim Justice inadvertently supplied viewers with a refreshing spin on a coronavirus update during a news briefing.
Although he quickly denied it was what everyone was thinking, the Republican lawmaker seemed hard pressed to convince people that the “audio glitch” during his remarks was not actually him dropping an F-bomb.
**Warning for what really sounds like a harsh expletive**

During a recorded press conference aired on Monday, Justice jolted viewers and listeners with what sounded like an expletive in the middle of his speech.
“I encourage all businesses that are allowed to open to do so only if they (possible expletive) follow the guidelines to keep West Virginians safe,” Justice said.
Reactions instantly poured in on social media where many wondered if they had only imagined the governor’s use of the word.
Is this real?!

The reactions prompted Justice to take to the camera again in order to clarify that he had not, in fact, made the verbal faux-pas but it was a “technical glitch” which caused the alleged outburst.
“Today at our news briefing there was an audio glitch,” he explained in a video shared on Twitter. “And it sounded like that I had said a bad word. A word that I would never say nor have I ever said. No possibility in any way, shape, form or fashion.”

The governor’s office released a statement saying the governor actually said all businesses should reopen only “if they can follow” the guidelines. Businesses with 10 or fewer employees were allowed to reopen in the state this week while others such as salons and restaurants could only open again for customers if updated guidelines were followed.
The clarification from Justice about his earlier remarks was met with some skepticism and some Twitter users lamented that he had so quickly issued a message about the “audio glitch.”
Couldn’t you have waited till tomorrow or next year to say this. Allow us to have a little bit of joy during this quarantine season.

Too bad, JJ. You had my respect there for a hot minute. Annnnnnnnd now we’re back to nah.

I’m not familiar with an audio glitch that inserts that particular word into a sentence, but ok.

Come on…. let us have our moment. 😂

The “glitch” version of the video was viewed thousands of times and continued to give coronavirus-weary viewers a much-needed moment of levity.
