Fox News anchor Chris Wallace became the target of President Donald Trump’s wrath once again.
The “Fox News Sunday” host was slammed by Trump as a “wannabe” of his father and for being worse than MSNBC’s “Sleepy Eyes” Chuck Todd, prompting one of his network colleagues to rebuke the president.
It was not clear what set Trump off this time, as he has vocally called out Wallace before. Following the airing of Wallace’s program on Sunday, the president declared that it was a “new ballgame” at Fox News, asking “what the hell is happening” at the network.
“Just watched Mike Wallace wannabe, Chris Wallace, on @FoxNews,” Trump tweeted, referring to Wallace’s late father and CBS journalist.
“I am now convinced that he is even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd of Meet the Press(please!), or the people over at Deface the Nation,” he added. “What the hell is happening to @FoxNews. It’s a whole new ballgame over there!”

While the president did not point to any specific comments, many were sure Wallace’s overall tone and questioning of guests about the timeline of the administration response to the coronavirus outbreak seemed to repeatedly set up Trump as to blame for the number of U.S. deaths.

Johns Hopkins health expert Tom Inglesby responded to a direct question from Wallace by saying that if the Trump administration taken action against COVID-19 sooner, “we’d be in a much better position” now.
Wallace had himself referred to a “stunning” New York Times article Saturday that claimed the president ignored warnings from his health experts and delayed action on COVID-19 cases.
“How much did those lost weeks cost us?” he asked at one point, as he gave his own clearly inaccurate “hindsight.”

Soon after Trump unloaded on Wallace, a weekend co-host of “Fox & Friends” fired off a critical tweet calling him out for his “3rd grade name-calling.”
Jedediah Bila criticized the president and claimed that Wallace “is doing his job.”

The president’s rebuke of Wallace came one day after he called One American News Network as a “great alternative” to Fox News. Soon after a report on Fox News about testing, equipment and staff shortages in VA hospitals, the president took a shot on Twitter.

Many came to Wallace’s defense, touting his “fair and balanced” journalism, including colleague Brit Hume though he didn’t directly respond to Trump’s remarks.

Sorry, but that’s enough, Brit. There’s a reason why people can’t stand to listen to him. And say what you want, but we expect Fox to live up their “fair and balanced” motto. Wallace is completely upfront with his liberal take and we are upfront about his bias. It goes both ways.

Many other Twitter users exposed again the media’s bias and how Wallace only helps to slant the coverage of the president, creating division while selling a narrative that does nothing to benefit Americans dealing with a global pandemic.
I watched Wallace this morning and I would say it was his absolute worst #FoxNewsSunday . There was no Balance at all. Never brought up the good things Administration & Trump has done. Questions made it sound like they have done nothing. Never mentioned travel restrictions etc!
