Billionaire Mark Cuban would be “happy” to be part of President Donald Trump’s newly-announced effort to get the nation’s economy back up and running.

The owner of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks revealed he would be glad to “serve” the country if asked to join what Trump called an “opening our country task force” aimed at reviving the economy in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

In a discussion of the latest effects of COVID-19 on the US economy, Cuban spoke to Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade who was the guest host on “The Ingraham Angle” Friday about the next steps the administration should be taking to get the country back on its feet.

“The president on Tuesday is going to name this council about bringing America back economically, putting us back to work. Would you like to be on that council, to be considered?” Kilmeade asked.

“Any way I can serve my country, I’m all in,” Cuban replied. “If they ask me to, I would be happy to.”

Kilmeade noted that Trump sometimes watches the Fox News program and could call the “Shark Tank” star to follow up.

“I hope so,” Cuban replied.

The president told reporters about a task force during the coronavirus briefing at the White House on Friday.

“We’re also setting up a council, a very, very great — doctors and business people, we’re going to be announcing it on Tuesday, of some great people,” Trump said as he has been pressing for the nation to get back to work before things get past the point of no return.

“This is beyond economic,” he explained. “This is really, I call it the ‘opening our country task force’ or ‘opening our country council’ so we don’t get it confused with Mike’s task force, which has done so great. And we’re going to have the great business leaders, great doctors, we’re going to have a great group of people.”

He explained that the group would probably meet via teleconference “because we don’t really want them traveling in for their own purposes.”

He also noted that he aimed to make the council a bipartisan group, pointing out how he has had the chance to  befriend “some of the Democrat governors that I wouldn’t really have had the privilege of getting to know.”

With some of those governors, such as Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, looking at reopening businesses in their states, Cuban offered the president some advice on prudent next steps in the coming days and weeks.

“I think he needs more information. I think you can’t just use the death rate and the number of people who are ill or sick or anything. You’ve got to go out and start talking to businesses about what they see on the other side,” he said.

He suggested surveys be conducted of business owners and of employees about their future goals and prospects, and he predicted that companies will have to “adjust” to a new normal.

“I would send the same type of survey to employees and [ask], ‘Do you anticipate going back to the job you left? … or do you anticipate going to a completely different job? Or do you anticipate not going after a job at all [and] don’t want to work?'” the business mogul said.

“We need more information to try to give us give some indication of what things are going to be like after this reset,” he added.

As a sports team owner, Cuban also weighed in on what the future of the season looks like.

“I do think we will play games without fans initially,” he said, “and then, as we feel more confident going back to work and going into crowds, then we will start to explore whether to bring fans into arenas and stadiums.”
