Hannity rips Gov Cuomo for ‘whining, bitching, and complaining’ instead of being prepared

Sean Hannity slammed New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for his “constant complaining” about the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus crisis.

The Fox News host called out the Democrat on “Hannity” Friday for all of his “whining, bitching, and complaining” about President Donald Trump’s response to the pressing needs in his state, which remains the COVID-19 epicenter in the nation.

“Last night, I touched on the insistent, never-ending, constant complaining, and frankly, lack of accountability of that guy, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo,” Hannity said during his monologue. “His state is the epicenter of the coronavirus in the United States. They are facing a real crisis.”

Hannity unpacked a list of resources, supplies, and aid that the president has made available to his former home state, including additional hospital beds, a floating military hospital ship, thousands of respirators and the dispatch of the National Guard to help with logistics.

“Everything that New York will need, Andrew Cuomo has requested, the president has delivered,” The Fox News host continued.

“But you know, I watched day after day, and he says, he talks with such great authority. You know, these politicians all talk, no action, that’s all we’re getting from Cuomo,” he said, noting that the governor appeared on his radio show and vowed, “we’ll all work together.”

“Today, he had nothing but more whining, bitching, and complaining,” Hannity said. “It’s getting pathetic, Andrew.  What are you doing and why didn’t you prepare better?”

He then went on to share multiple instances where government-funded projects in New York wasted millions of taxpayer dollars without delivering anything of substance, all while the Democrat leader failed to prepare and have supplies such as the ventilators that he has been pressing Trump for.

In an interview with Hannity on Thursday, the president had pushed back on Cuomo’s assertion that he needed 30,000 more ventilators to deal with the coronavirus outbreak in his state, which has confirmed over 46,000 cases and has seen over 600 deaths, with more than 400 of those being centered in New York City.

“I don’t believe you need 40,000 or 30,000 ventilators,” Trump said. “You know, you go into major hospitals, sometimes they’ll have two ventilators. And now all of a sudden they’re saying, ‘Can we order 30,000 ventilators?'”

Cuomo had doubled down on his request and dismissed Trump’s claim that unused ventilators had been found sitting in a New York storage facility.

“Maybe once in a while just say thank you, Mr. President. Thank you to the American people. They are paying that bill,” Hannity said after airing a clip of Cuomo saying the hospitals did not even need the ventilators yet.

“The president has pledged to everybody, he will continue to move Heaven and Earth to get New York and any other state any ventilators, any medical equipment that they need. It’s not exactly been the simplest endeavor,” he continued.

Hannity slammed the governor, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the state’s leaders for wasting taxpayer dollars yet failing to position the state to deal with an emergency. Noting that, as a resident of New York, he pays a “fortune” in taxes, Hannity called out the Democrat leaders for having “little or none, zero, preparation.”

“What part of being the number one terror target in the entire country did they not seem to understand?” he asked, adding that the three-term governor has “no excuses” while he “lectures” and complains.

“Why didn’t you do your job and allocate the emergency dollars for moments predictably like this?” he asked as he listed examples of where funds went in the state, including a $750 million solar-panel factory that has since closed down and a $600 million investment in a computer chip factory “that sits empty.”

The Fox News host doubled down on his criticism, wondering how much of the needed emergency supplies in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic could have been purchased and stored with just some of the funds that were squandered over the years under Cuomo’s watch while the governor continues to lecture the president.

“The president has been delivering on his promises to you,” Hannity concluded. “Cuomo and de Blasio, you need to now start doing the same.”
