A North Carolina restaurant manager is out of a job after he allegedly refused to serve Trump supporters by locking the business doors.
When supporters of President Donald Trump headed to Bojangles’ restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina following a campaign event last week, they found a cold welcome as the doors to the eatery were locked, according to one rally attendee who took to Facebook to recount the incident.

“Bojangles locked the doors to the Trump rally last night and denied service,” Michael Furick wrote, noting the irony in that the president’s event was held at the Bojangles’ Coliseum.

“Ironic because the rally was at Bojangles arena. @bojangles this is pretty distasteful. I walk up to the door and people are gathered around and stated they would not serve Trump supporters,” he claimed.
A shift manager apparently made the woke decision without direction from the franchise owner or his boss, whom he ended up calling anyway to come open the fast food joint’s doors again.
Furick posted photos showing an employee making a “stop” signal with his hand and customers standing outside with their pro-Trump signs following the 10,000-strong rally which was held less than a ten-minute walk from the restaurant, according to The Charlotte Observer.
Though the doors were eventually unlocked, Trump supporters threatened to boycott the chain over the incident. The company issued an apology on social media, explaining that the shift manager, who “made a bad decision,” was no longer employed.
“We apologize for anyone who felt they were treated in a way that was disrespectful,” Brian Little, head of Bojangles’ communications, said. “This is not in line with who we are as a business. We serve everyone who wants to purchase one of our [menu choices].”
Little added that the “young shift manager” was “overwhelmed” by the number of customers coming from the rally, though Furick’s photos only show a few people standing outside.
“He didn’t know what to do,” Little said. “He just closed the restaurant.”
Furick was clear that the president’s supporters would not be intimidated or discouraged by liberals trying to make a political statement.
“If you don’t want me there, you’re not going to offend me,” Furick told WCNC-TV. “It’s not like ‘Bojangles’, you broke me.’ You’re not gonna break me, you know what I’m saying? I’m not Kathy Griffin. You know what I mean? You ain’t gonna break me.”
Furick added that “it’s not all about the Bojangles’. It’s about every company and corporation that sits there and tries to tell us what we need to say, what we need to wear.”
“You’re not gonna serve us? Yeah, you are,” Furick said. “Or you’re gonna get rolled over.”
