With Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders having fallen from his status as the 2020 Democrat front-runner, his top surrogates appear to be desperately trying to revive his campaign by resorting to the “lamest” arguments possible.
In a tweet posted Wednesday, for instance, surrogate Rep. Rashida Tlaib tried desperately to play the Anita Hill card against front-runner Joe Biden.
Q: Who silenced Anita Hill when she was trying to speak out about Clarence Thomas?
A: Joe Biden
— Rashida Tlaib (@RashidaTlaib) March 5, 2020
The tweet was based on the dubious assertion that then-Senate Judiciary Committee chair Biden did something wrong when he fiercely interrogated Hill during Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s confirmation hearings in the early 1990s.
That being said, the tweet was completely off the mark because Hill already said last summer that, despite her illegitimate beef with Biden, she would vote for him over President Donald Trump were he to win the Democrat nomination.
“Of course I could,” she replied when asked by an NBC reporter whether she could conceive of voting for Biden. “I don’t think it has disqualified him.”
“He’s perfectly capable of running for president. I think we will have to make our decisions about what we want our leaders to be doing in the future around these issues of gender violence.”
Would Anita Hill vote for Joe Biden if he is the Democratic nominee in 2020, Anita Hill said:
“Of course I could”

Conservatives didn’t even need to involve themselves in Tlaib’s tweet this time because thousands of liberal Democrats were already on the job.
First you booed Hillary Clinton, and now you’re trying to destroy your own party’s current presumptive nominee? What a disappointment you’ve turned out to be.

What’s the endgame here w/this comment? As part of the Democratic Party, you should be using your platform to highlight the challenges @realDonaldTrump continues to bring to this country. Biden isn’t perfect but don’t compare him to the almighty. Compare him to the alternative.

Not a good look for you or your cause.

So I take it you won’t be attending the meet and greet Black Caucus Chair Virgie Rollins will be having for @JoeBiden in Detroit?

Who voted vs immigration reform in 2007, for Minutemen terrorizing immigrants on the border in 2006 & had had their immigration record praised by white nationalist Rep. Steve King in 2015?
A: Bernie Sanders
Is this the kinda thing you really wanna do?

Who needs Trump when #Democrat’s have this toxic divider!

1. Biden voted against Clarence Thomas
2. If you think this was going to stop conservatives from getting 30 years worth of Thomas’ opinions, I give you Brett Kavanaugh
“Anita Hill” is the lamest faux-left attack of them all

About six hours after Tlaib’s failed attempt to revive Sanders’ campaign, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made her own attempt by highlighting the 2020 candidate’s more radical policy proposals, i.e., free health care, “racial justice,” etc.
This time well-educated conservatives were best for the job, though unfortunately for the socialist congresswomen, both conservatives and liberals decided to tag-team her with a large dose of inconvenient facts and observations.
I believe the govt is responsible for the problems that you think we need even more govt to fix. You want us to try to put out fires by giving a lot more power to the arsonists. Which ironically makes you responsible for helping create the very problems you claim to be fighting.

1)Health care is NOT a right. 2)A living wage only happens when you can prove you’re worth it- flipping burgers is not a career. 3)The working class are the jobs you destroyed- remember Amazon? 4)There’s no such thing as “Climate Change” 5)Racial justice means obeying the law

I believe in hard work and personal responsibility. A strictly controlled border, a self sufficient country, withdraw from the UN, and a ban on all Muslim immigration.
I don’t think your Soros playbook covers what I want.

.@AOC, if Berners et. al. believed in racial justice, theyd stop insulting those who vote for others, since thats a huge % of African American community.
So far Bernie only won states with far less percent of AAs than national average. His fans need to consider why, not insult.

If you believe in:
Constructive criticism of leaders,
Apologizing for mistakes…
Then we are on the same team.
But Team Bernie doesn’t, so we aren’t.
— Ashley Lesieur (@NastyWoman1012) March 4, 2020
We want the same things but we are not on the same team. Bernie is not the right person.
— ?ilroed☕❤️???? (@IreneRoeder) March 4, 2020
We want Biden

The latter tweet summed up the Democrat primary. Despite a lot of noise from “Bernie Bros” about Sanders’ alleged electability and favorability, Biden appeared to prove this Tuesday that the candidate a majority of Democrats want is indeed him.
Of course, several more primary elections remain, so things could theoretically change, though it may help if surrogates like AOC and Tlaib put a lid on it.
