Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg “felt sorry” for two of his former rivals but thought they “behaved themselves” well in the race.
The billionaire former New York City mayor spoke to reporters outside of his house on Monday about the end of the campaigns of Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

“I talked to Mayor Pete and Amy Klobuchar…I wish them all the best,” Bloomberg said, noting that he spoke to both former 2020 hopefuls earlier after they had announced they were ending their campaigns.
“I thought both of them behaved themselves,” he said adding that they “represented their country and their states very well.”
Buttigieg and Klobuchar, who announced the end of their presidential candidacy, joined former Texas congressman Beto O’Rourke – who suspended his own White House bid near last fall – in endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday. Just hours before Super Tuesday, the former rivals threw their support behind Biden in an apparent effort by the moderate wing of the Democratic Party to challenge the rise of self-described democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders.

“I felt sorry for them,” Bloomberg said of Buttigieg and Klobuchar.
“But I’m in it to win it,” he added. “And we are going to go out, and we’re going to go get him.”
Bloomberg is not alone in holding on to his campaign, as Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard continue to press on despite the long-shot of their White House bids.
“If we spend the next four months dividing our party and going at each other, we will spend the next four years watching Donald Trump tear apart our country,” Klobuchar said alongside Biden in Texas on Monday night.
Though Bloomberg did not compete in the first four Democratic primaries, he unloaded millions of dollars from his personal fortune to advertise heavily, with some of the promotions coming under fire for false information. Critics contend that the 78-year-old is buying his way to the presidency.
His debut debate performance in Las Vegas drew heavy criticism and gave President Donald Trump plenty of fodder to mock the former mayor he has dubbed “Mini Mike.” Trump took aim at Bloomberg again during his speech at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference last week, sparking cheers and laughter from the crowd as he imitated the reportedly 5 foot 8 inch billionaire.

At a Fox News town hall with Bloomberg on Monday, protests erupted in the Virginia audience as Bloomberg answered an audience question on guns.
Protesters stood up and shouted, “Stop and frisk is wrong!” and “Release the NDAs!” as an audience member attempted to ask Bloomberg about his gun control views.
Bloomberg’s comments about Klobuchar and Buttigieg on Monday drew heated responses on Twitter where many urged him to just get out of the way.
Maybe he should behave himself and drop out now.
