New details have emerged on the infamous meeting between former President Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch in 2016.

A new book reveals explosive information about the secretive meeting at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport, as the author of “Secret on the Tarmac” discussed on “Fox & Friends” Monday.

Christopher Sign, the journalist who broke the story about that meeting and has received death threats for talking about it, described how the encounter between Clinton and Lynch was “not a coincidence.”

“When I broke this story, we knew something had occurred that was a bit unusual. It was a planned meeting. It was not a coincidence,” Sign said, explaining that his book “details everything that they don’t want you to know and everything they think you forgot.”

“Bill Clinton was on that plane for 20 minutes and it wasn’t just about golf, grandkids, and Brexit. There’s so much that doesn’t add up,” he added.

The meeting took place in 2016 as the FBI was investigating then-Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state. Lynch had claimed the meeting was a “chance encounter” and she and the former president said the conversation revolved around their grandchildren.

Then-candidate Donald Trump questioned if that was believable in a tweet at the time.

Sign explained that a “trusted source” who told him about the meeting described how Clinton waited for Lynch when he had arrived at the airport.

“He then sat and waited in his car with the motorcade, her airstairs come down, most of her staff gets off, he then gets on as the Secret Service and FBI are figuring out ‘How in the world are we supposed to handle this? What are we going to do?’” Sign told “Fox & Friends.”

“This story isn’t about right or left, Republican or Democrat, it’s about right and wrong and journalism,” Sign contended.

In light of the attacks on President Trump, his attorney general William Barr and decisions made by the Justice Department, Sign remarked at the seeming double standard in how the tarmac meeting was largely dismissed by the media after the initial reports.

“As journalists, you have to ask yourself, why are people not delving into this? Why are we not looking into what exactly happened?” he added.

Sign noted how Lynch testified before the House Oversight Committee in December of 2018.

“She mentioned that Bill Clinton flattered her, talked about Eric Holder, talked about how things were going at Justice, talked about her job performance, not this golf, grandkids, Brexit,” Sign said.

The secret meeting took place just before the FBI decided not to recommend criminal charges against Clinton. In the 2018 report released by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, the former president said he was “offended” by the criticism of that meeting.

“I thought you know, I don’t know whether I’m more offended that they think I’m crooked or that they think I’m stupid,” Clinton told investigators, according to Horowitz’s  report.

Sign noted the impact the reporting has had on his professional and personal life.

“My family received significant death threats shortly after breaking this story, credit cards hacked,” he explained. “My children – we have code words, we have secret code words that they know what to do.”
