A group of evangelical Christian women prayed over President Trump when he made a surprise appearance at their event at the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.

An Instagram video posted by Christian activist Rachel Faulkner-Brown shows Trump bowing his head as a group of women pray over him.

In their prayer, the ladies thanked God for giving President Trump the courage to stand up against the enemies who seek to destroy him. They also asked God to protect and strengthen him for the battles that lie ahead.

“Holy Father, we thank you so much for this evening. We thank you for this man of God. We thank you for his courage of standing up when others would rather stay seated.

“Father, we ask you that you protect him. That you to lift him up, that you give him strength and know that he must be tired at times. We just pray that you give him power like none other. We love him. We hold him up. And we thank you. Amen.’

On her Instagram post, Faulkner-Brown said the group prayed for the President “because we all need to be prayed for, we all need to be loved and we all will thrive in freedom. Hail to the Chief tonight.”

The group had “no idea” that President Trump would make a surprise appearance and were thrilled when he showed up, the Daily Mail reported.

In attendance at the gathering were Trump’s longtime faith adviser Paula White, Candy Carson (the wife of HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson), and pro-life speaker Yvonne Florczak–Seeman.

Florczak–Seeman posted several photos from the event on Facebook.

President Trump enjoys widespread support from Christian evangelicals, who love that he is vocally pro-life.

Last month, Trump made history as the first U.S. president at speak at the March for Life rally. March for Life has repeatedly thanked President Trump “for being a voice for the unborn.”

This show of support from evangelicals is a harsh rebuke of the anti-Trump op-ed penned by the former editor of Christianity Today. Rather than erode support for Trump, the op-ed galvanized Christians, who rallied around the President.

Franklin Graham — the son of the late pastor Billy Graham (who founded Christianity Today) — trashed the disgruntled ex-editor.

“For Christianity Today to side with the Democrat Party in a totally partisan attack on the President of the United States is unfathomable,” Graham wrote on Facebook.

“Christianity Today has been used by the left for their political agenda. It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism.”

“My father knew Donald Trump, believed in Donald Trump, and in this last election, he voted for Donald Trump. And if he were here today, I’m sure he would tell you that himself.”
