Hope Hicks is returning to the White House as a senior adviser to President Trump, almost two years after resigning as communications director.
Hicks is a longtime friend of first daughter Ivanka Trump. They worked together on Ivanka’s fashion brand in New York before President Trump took office.
In her new role as counselor as to the President, Hicks will work with White House senior adviser Jared Kushner and White House director of political affairs Brian Jack. One of her main priorities will be coordinating Trump’s reelection campaign, Bloomberg reported.
In a statement, Kushner warmly welcomed Hicks, 31, back to the White House, saying she will be invaluable to the team.
“There is no one more devoted to implementing President Trump’s agenda than Hope Hicks,” Kushner said in a statement. “We are excited to have her back on the team.”
Hicks quit her job as head of communications at Fox Corp. in Los Angeles, where she was earning $1 million a year. She’s taking a huge pay cut to return to the White House.
Separately, Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus are also rejoining the Trump administration in honorary, unpaid roles. Spicer was the former White House press secretary and Priebus was Trump’s first White House chief of staff. Both left the White House in 2017.
In their new roles, Spicer and Priebus will be members of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships, the WH announced Tuesday. The job involves selecting winners of sought-after fellowships in the administration.
When Hope Hicks resigned as communications director in March 2018, President Trump expressed confidence that they would “work together again in the future.” Well, that day has finally arrived!
Forbes magazine did a profile on Hope in 2017:
Sources say Hope resigned after getting fed up with being a tabloid target due to her former romance with ex-White House speechwriter Rob Porter. Porter resigned in February 2018 amid domestic violence allegations leveled by his two ex-wives.
After that gossip broke, Hicks was stalked around the clock by paparazzi and was the subject of countless lurid tabloid stories prying into her personal life. Despite being a PR executive, Hicks shuns interviews, is not active on social media, and does not even have a Twitter or Instagram account.
In June 2019 — at the height of the Democrats’ Russia collusion hoax — Congressman Jerry Nadler tried slut-shame Hicks over her alleged past romance with Corey Lewandowski, a former Trump 2016 campaign manager.
During a closed-door deposition, the snide Nadler repeatedly referred to Hicks as “Ms. Lewandowksi.”
It was a catty reference to Hicks’ rumored affair with Lewandowski, who is married and has four children.
Republican Congressman Devin Nunes trashed “old, pervy” Nadler for his sexist innuendo during his inane questioning that bordered on Congressional harassment.
“My sources that were inside and did the interviewing said it was quite embarrassing to watch the Democratic Congressmen essentially ask Hope Hicks about her love life,” Nunes told Fox News.
Nunes continued: “I think that’s very bizarre to have a bunch of old, pervy Congressmen asking somebody who has no new information about her love life. I think the American people would be ashamed if they knew what actually happened in that room.”

Before joining the Trump administration, Hicks — who was briefly a teen model — did public relations work for Ivanka Trump’s fashion line.
She was also instrumental in the 2016 Trump presidential campaign, where she quickly became a trusted adviser to Donald Trump. After he became president, Trump is said to have relied heavily on Hicks, whom he considers a second daughter.
