Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden (a.k.a. “Corn Pop” slayer) continued his role as the unofficial chair of Trump’s reelection campaign by referring to former Obama HUD Secretary Julian Castro as “Julio.”
Biden made his latest blunder while pandering to voters in Manchester, New Hampshire this week. Joe made the remark while railing against the Democratic primary debates, which he dismissed as superficial and non-substantive.
Biden also took issue with the Democratic Party lowering its standards to allow laggards like lackluster former presidential candidate Julian Castro on the debate stage.
“The rules seem to be changing a little bit,” Biden said. “You know, if I’m Julio Castro or if I’m a couple of other guys [they make exceptions]. They didn’t change the rules to allow me to stand on the debate stage. But now, the rule gets changed to put someone else on the debate stage in a primary that he can’t even run in.”

It’s unclear if Biden was deliberately jabbing at Julian Castro, or if it was a genuine mistake. If it was the former, then we salute you, Joe.
During a prior debate in September 2019, Castro attacked Biden by suggesting that the 77-year-old career politician was too old and senile to be president.
Castro fumed: “Are you forgetting what you said two minutes ago? Are you forgetting already what you said just two minutes ago? I can’t believe that you said two minutes ago that they had to buy in, and now you’re saying they don’t have to buy-in. You’re forgetting that!”
Castro was widely criticized for that nasty, ageist dig. Joe got the last laugh: Castro dropped out of the presidential race. He has since endorsed Elizabeth Warren for president.

During his campaign event in New Hampshire yesterday, Biden also lamented that the ratings for the Democratic debates have tumbled — signaling that voters are apathetic.
When an audience member claimed that the most recent debate only garnered 7.9 million viewers, Biden quipped: “Come on, guys!”
Reminder: The U.S. population tops 331 million. That means only 2% of the country bothered to tune in for the most recent debate.
Biden also trashed the format of the primary debates, saying he has been in “real” debates before — and these aren’t it.
One man asked: “After more than a year of campaigning and after decades in public life, what can you say in these last few days that is new or different that might bring around folks who don’t already support you?”
Biden replied by pointing out he’s leading the polls nationally. “The first two states [Iowa and New Hampshire] are important, but they don’t determine the outcome,” Joe said.
“We haven’t had a debate yet. We’ve had a-minute-and-15-second assertions.
You call these debates? I’ve been in debates! I debated Paul Ryan [in 2012]. And I debated that woman from Alaska who could see Russia [Sarah Palin]. I did pretty well. Those were debates — you can answer questions.
I’ve been the frontrunner all the way through, so I got this big target on my back. I’m not complaining. It’s just a reality. We’re gonna get to debates pretty soon, I hope. Real debates, where we actually have exchanges on the merits and the fundamentals and the details of what we’re talking about.”
Meanwhile, this is the reception that failed Democratic impeachment manager Jerry Nadler got from voters after the sham impeachment imploded. Nadler got heckled. “You guys lose again, Nadler!”
