Fox News host Steve Hilton called on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to not be “such a baby” and apologize to an NPR reporter.
The host of Fox News Channel’s “The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton” took Pompeo to task over his “ridiculous” reaction to questioning from NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly last week.

“Here’s just a quick thing I wanted to say,” Hilton remarked during Sunday’s broadcast of his show.
“Secretary of State Mike Pompeo got into an ugly dustup with an NPR reporter this week and I’ve got something I want to get off my chest,” Hilton, a regular supporter of President Donald Trump and his administration, said.
“First, I want to make clear, I’m a big fan of the Secretary. I appreciate his tough stand on many issues, not least China,” he added, pointing out examples.
“But last week, Pompeo lost his temper after an interview with NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly unleashing a four-letter word tirade, putting out a ridiculous statement, whining about what questions he’d agreed to answer,” Hilton said.
Kelly, who had asked Pompeo about Iran and Ukraine during an interview on National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered” last week, claimed the interview ended abruptly and the secretary of state unloaded an expletive-filled rebuke and questioned whether she could even locate Ukraine on a map.

Pompeo personally fired back at Kelly in a statement over the weekend.
“NPR reporter Mary Louise Kelly lied to me, twice,” he said. “First, last month, in setting up our interview and, then again yesterday, in agreeing to have our post-interview conversation off the record. It is shameful that this reporter chose to violate the basic rules of journalism and decency.”
Pompeo reminded Kelly at the start of the interview that he’d “agreed to come on your show today to talk about Iran.” But he apparently did not make his point as Kelly continued to question him about the administration’s policies regarding Ukraine. Though Pompeo answered some of Kelly’s questions, he ended the interview and she followed by stating he was “not happy to have been questioned about Ukraine.”
During his show Sunday, Hilton called out Pompeo for his alleged behavior.
“I listen to NPR a lot, and I can tell you that Mary Louise Kelly is one of the very few hosts on there who actually seems fair and is not totally biased against President Trump,” Hilton said.
“For goodness sake, Mr. Secretary, don’t be such a baby!” he added.
“You should be able to handle tough questions by now and don’t be such a bully. Foul-mouth ranting at a reporter doing her job is an embarrassment to you and the administration,” Hilton continued.
“You should apologize,” Hilton said. “And people will think much more of you if you do.”
The president seemed to back Pompeo in a tweet agreeing with a question about why the nonprofit media organization, called out as a “big-government, Democrat Party propaganda operation,” was getting any federal funding.

Though Hilton insisted he is a “big fan” of Pompeo, his rebuke got mixed reactions on Twitter where many called him out for referring to the secretary of state as a “bully” and a “baby.”
