Anti-Trump activist and filmmaker Michael Moore continued his ignorant shilling for Iran in a series of tweets that sparked an instant backlash.
Hours after Iran launched more than a dozen missiles on the joint US-Iraqi Al-Asad airbase in Iraq, Moore was on social media again bemoaning the killing of Iran’s Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
Sharing an image of what was apparently the massive crowds at the terrorist mastermind’s funeral, Moore asked his more than 6 million followers if there is “an American General for whom millions of us would turn out” in the same way.
Just wondering – is there an American General for whom millions of us would turn out for his funeral? Mad Dog? Kelly? Colin Powel? William Westmoreland? Can anyone even name the chair of the Joint Chiefs? We all support those who serve but would we pour into the streets like this? pic.twitter.com/L1Y5Bb9iys

Moore’s ridiculous query was quickly torched by other Twitter users. Some noted that there have indeed been other funerals that drew epic crowds.
No, but there are other examples…? pic.twitter.com/kwcmwJm38a

Is there any politician for which we would publicly mourn hysterically like these grief-stricken North Koreans pic.twitter.com/KOZNVAMDTk

Stalin’s funeral. Notice any similarities? ??♂️ pic.twitter.com/w0Ym5ngiMQ

No this crap doesn’t happen in the free world. Idolizing idiots happens in theocracies and dictatorships.

At the news of the airstrike ordered by President Trump which killed Soleimani, Moore made his liberal cohorts proud by actually sending a “personal appeal” to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, begging him not to be mean to the U.S. in retaliation.
Michael Moore personally DMs the Ayatollah of Iran to beg forgiveness for Americans, waits for response https://t.co/4AvvQTXjIm

Even after being raked over the coals for that move, the Hollywood producer didn’t get the message and went on a tone-deaf tweetstorm Wednesday, looking for any evidence that Soleimani was a “bad guy” or “bad actor.”
I know it’s bothersome that I’m speaking some Awful Truths & asking these questions, so I’ll just continue:
Can someone name the building in the US that the “bad guy” General Soleimani ordered blown up?
How bout the civilian US airliner that “bad actor” Soleimani had shot down?
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 8, 2020
His disgusting rant defending the man even Democrats admitted had American blood on his hands went on.
What Americans did Soleimani kill? Our troops, who were forced to invade Iraq, a country next to his which had nothing to do with 9/11? No.Our beloved troops were sent there to their deaths by Bush, Cheney &the 29 Democratic Senators who voted to commit this war crime. The Truth.
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 8, 2020
But Moore’s take on the massive crowds at Soleimani’s funeral in Iran was given a brutal reality check on social media where users who are apparently more informed than the Tinseltown elite offered some information.
No we wouldn’t Michael. But then again, the lives of us and our loved ones wouldn’t be threatened if we wouldn’t attend such a funeral, like is the case in Iran. Many thousands of Iranians attend such events not out of free will, but because the regime expects them to attend

Probably if they were paid like these were.

Depends on if we had guns to our heads like they do.
— Aspiring Hobo (@BrumfieldJeremy) January 8, 2020
Not surprisingly, reports were shared about how the Iranian regime forced or paid people to participate, a tactic it has been known to use repeatedly over the years to create the necessary optics for the outside world and even its own citizens. But others denounced the reports as “fake news” and “propaganda.”
It’s often like that under dictatorships. It’s orchestrated and forced.

#Iran-backed militias fire live ammunition at anti-government protesters after they refused to attend symbolic funeral for Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Muhandis in Dhi Qar’s Nasriya. #Iraq pic.twitter.com/s6ObkHeWs7

Iraq Ka’taib Hezbollah killed one protester in Nasiriyah and wounded others in Basra just because they refused Soleimani mourning in their cities.
Many protesters I met, told me that.

Massive crowd due to the risk of being killed by Iran’s militia if you refused to attend this funeral— don’t be fooled many Iranians are celebrating the death of Soleimani https://t.co/Meo8Rj8skw
— Jasmine (@g0lparast) January 6, 2020
That’s not true, Iran’s nation is not united. These masses on the very either directly regime members or people who have been forced to attend to funeral. There are many people who actually thanked Trump in their homes in anonymity!#IraniansDetestSoleimani#TnxPOTUS4Soleimani

They have 2 choices in Iran:
1) Join mass crowds supporting Soleimani at the funeral
2) Get shot by govt thugs
Why is our media in the US doing the bidding of this totalitarian dictatorship & not showing us the truth? To undermine Trump.#FreeIranhttps://t.co/tph2TpjDQ0

This is a typical propaganda video, which makes me think of children in North Korea. If you don’t cry, you will be severely punished. So, you need to pretend crying. You have no choice but being a good actor. https://t.co/yEQaRwHHpM— Marina’s Info Corner (@MarinaIwanovsky) January 6, 2020
