Mar-a-Lago a possible target; Iranian official tweets list of Trump’s properties worldwide

An adviser to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani appeared to be dropping a chilling threat against President Donald Trump’s properties, including those in New York and Florida.

Hesameddin Ashena seemed to hint at retaliation for the death of military commander Qassem Soleimani by linking in a tweet to a Forbes article listing all of the properties in Trump’s real estate empire.

Trump Tower, Trump International hotels in Washington, Las Vegas and Chicago as well as the president’s residence in Florida, Mar-a-Lago, were included in the list of Trump’s multi-billion dollar estate compiled by the magazine.

The Rouhani adviser’s tweet comes in the wake of rising tensions and escalating rhetoric following the death of Soleimani, the Iranian general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the commander of its Quds Force who was reportedly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

Iran vowed revenge and warned it could attack the White House, with even some reports of an $80 million bounty on Trump’s head. The president fired back, warning Iran that 52 targets would be hit if it strikes against America.

The president also let it be known that his tweets “serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner.”

Thousands joined a funeral march in Tehran as Soleimani was laid to rest, a weeping Ayatollah Khamenei leading mourners in a show of respect for the general even as Iranian MP Abolfazl Abutorabi called the strike “a declaration of war” in remarks the night before.

Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif taunted Trump with a disrespectful tweet touting the crowd size at the funeral.

Soleimani’s daughter vowed that “families of U.S. soldiers in the Middle East will spend their days waiting for the death of their children.”

In addition to his tweet about Trump’s properties, Ashena had declared on Twitter that “we have ZERO problems with the American people.”

“Our sole problem is Trump,” the head of Iran’s Center for Strategic Studies had written. “In the event of war, it is he who will bear full responsibility.”

The president stood his ground, reminding Iran that The U.S. will retaliate if it seeks revenge.

“They’re allowed to kill our people,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he returned to Washington from Palm Beach, Fla. on Sunday.

“They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. they’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people. And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site?” the president continued. “It doesn’t work that way.”
