Members of Congress received holiday greetings from Hustler magazine in the form of a card depicting a graphic cartoon of President Trump being assassinated.
The pornographic magazine is under fire for sending the card wishing “Merry Christmas!” to lawmakers over the holiday, prompting many to condemn the move and call for the Secret Service to investigate.

“I just shot Donald Trump on Fifth Avenue, and no one arrested me,” read the illustration of a man holding a smoking gun on the cover of the card, apparently referring to a comment made by the president
During the 2016 presidential campaign, Trump had declared: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters, OK?”
Inside the shocking card, an illustration showed smiling onlookers – including a cartoon Santa Claus and a young child – standing over a bleeding figure resembling Trump.
“Merry Christmas!” – “From all of us at Hustler,” the card read.
The porn magazine, founded by Trump critic Larry Flynt, confirmed it had sent the card, telling Politico reporter Melanie Zanona that “the card was sent by HUSTLER and was our official holiday card for 2019.”

Comedian Kathy Griffin was part of a two-month federal investigation after posting the controversial photo with a fake severed Trump head in 2017, and revealed she nearly faced charges of conspiracy to assassinate the president of the United States.
Hustler magazine was slammed for its tasteless and shocking holiday greeting. Rep. Mike Johnson joined many others in condemning the card.
“Just imagine if a conservative had distributed such a disgusting and hateful piece about a Democrat,” the Louisiana Republican wrote.
Here’s all you need to know about the radical Left. A young staffer of mine opened this in a stack of holiday mail today. Even Mark Zaid, the attorney representing the whistleblower in the Ukraine scandal, found the card “unacceptable.”
This is unacceptable, and clearly I’m no fan of this President. But this absolutely crosses the line and there should be a public apology. Something like this is not a joking matter. https://t.co/5nuY1IslTM

Flynt, the magazine’s 77-year-old founder, has reportedly been sending a copy of each issue of Hustler to every member of Congress since the 1908’s. Despite complaints from congressional offices, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that the mailing of the magazines could not be blocked, noting that members of Congress “are not forced to read the magazine or other of the mail they receive in volume. We cannot imagine that Congressional offices all lack wastebaskets.”
A full-page ad by Flynt and his magazine ran in The Washington Post in 2017 offering a “$10 million” reward for “information leading to the impeachment and removal of office” of Trump.
While some Twitter users dismissed the magazine’s latest stunt with the Christmas card, others slammed the publication for its “appalling” move.

@HustlerMag I did not vote for Trump; but…
* This is wrong on so many levels.
* Hurting America’s image worldwide – you accomplish nothing of value.
* I support free speech – I also see the damage reckless abandonment does. pic.twitter.com/qGfM9G7nAo— MAPennell (@ma_pennell) January 3, 2020
If you’re going to be edgy, be funny.
This card fails the latter.
About to get the Kathy Griffin Effect.
