Rep. Paul Gosar took a shot at Hillary Clinton in a message with a reminder of the “reason for the season.”
The Arizona Republican took a moment to offer the reminder on Twitter ahead of Christmas, sharing a clip from the “60 Minutes” interview with Hillary and her husband, former President Bill Clinton in 1992.

“Remember the reason for the season!” Gosar told his nearly 95,000 Twitter followers on Tuesday, along with the video.
The clip showed the behind the scenes footage from the interview as the late “60 Minutes” creator Don Hewitt directed the Clintons just as the lighting rig toppled over, hitting the former first lady on the head.
“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph,” Hillary could be heard saying after scrambling out of her seat and touching the part of her head where she was hit, possibly highlighting the “reason” Gosar tweeted the clip.
“I’m alright,” she added, in the embrace of her husband who was then governor of Arkansas.
“Forty minutes into it, the lights fell down. It was like an artillery round going off,” Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes” said in an outtake that was aired during a 2004 anniversary special dedicated to Hewitt, who died in 2009. “I realized the lights had fallen off the wall and almost killed them.”

Gosar drew social media attention last month when he posted a hidden message in nearly a dozen tweets railing against the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. The Arizona lawmaker hid the message, “Epstein didn’t kill himself” in a string of tweets, becoming part of the viral online conspiracy jokes about the death of the late convicted sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein.
Gosar was slammed on Twitter for posting the Clinton video clip this week.
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton thanked the congressman for reminding her about her father’s “quick reflexes,” noting that she was baking Christmas cookies at the time he tweeted the video clip.
At 11am on Christmas Eve, we were making cookies for Santa. Thank you Congressman @RepGosar for reminding me of my dad’s quick reflexes! https://t.co/zEJgHrYc3h

Neera Tanden, the president of the Center for American Progress, suggested it was behavior like this form the lawmaker which caused his own siblings to appear in a campaign advertisement for his opponent last year. Gosar commented at the time that “Stalin would be proud” of the family’s actions.
This is likely one of many reasons your family made an ad against you.

Historian Kevin Kruse also reminded Gosar about his family.
Remember when your brothers and sisters cut a TV ad saying how awful you were?
I guess that’s why you think the season is meant for making awful comments like this and not, you know, spending time with family that loves you.

Delina DiSanto, a 2020 Democratic challenger vying for Gosar’s seat, said she couldn’t believe he thought the clip was “something to celebrate.”
I cannot believe you feel this is something to celebrate. @HillaryClinton almost got hurt and you think it’s something to celebrate or are you laughing? Now that is a dark personality. I’m coming for your seat. We cannot continue to have you in office. You are a danger to #AZ04

Many wondered what Gosar’s intention was to tweet the video, and some reported it, while others praised the former president for his reaction in protecting Hillary.
How nasty are you? Is this your idea of Christianity? I think you have the wrong Bible….

I thought this was to show how Clinton protected his wife, so quickly and automatically. A good man despite his flaws. What was Gosar’d intent?

Kudos to former President Bill Clinton. He grabbed his wife before jumping out of the way. No hesitation. Gosar would be scrambling to find his weapon to return fire at the falling light fixtures.

I reported his tweet. IMO it’s promoting violence towards Hillary Clinton.
