‘Trump Town!’ Fla realtor pitches Trump a deal to turn mobile home park into first Presidential district

A Florida real estate broker has a $1 billion offer he thinks President Trump just can’t refuse.

Palm Beach County realtor James Arena wants Trump to buy up a 43-acre mobile home park as the potential location for a future presidential library.

“This is all about opportunity,” Arena told “Fox & Friends” Tuesday, noting that the first “presidential township” in the US is a win-win for the president and residents of Palm Beach County, where Trump’s resort club and now primary residence, Mar-a-Lago, is located.

“This is a very simple land deal,” he explained, dismissing any worries about negotiating with the real estate mogul himself.

Looking to turn the coastal town of Briny Breezes, which currently has under 500 homes, into Trump Town, USA, Arena is proposing the area south of Boynton Beach be transformed into a presidential library, hotel and a town “in honor of the greatest president in American history, Donald J. Trump,” he said in a video he posted on Facebook this week in his bid to be elected mayor.

Arena claims he has even enlisted the help of his friend, rapper and Palm Beach County resident, Vanilla Ice.

“Vanilla Ice ran it by Donald Jr.,” Arena told The Palm Beach Post, referring to the president’s eldest son. “He called me back and said, ‘Man, I think they’re really into it.’”

But the “Ice Ice Baby” rapper, whose real name is Robert Matthew Van Winkle, and Trump Jr. have both denied they are thinking of collaborating on the project.

“Don hasn’t spoken to anyone about building a presidential library and has never even met Vanilla Ice,” a spokesman for Trump Jr. told The Daily Beast Monday. “The Palm Beach Post story was bizarre fiction.”

A previous plan by a developer to buy the town for $10 million back in 2007 fell apart but would have made the homeowners overnight millionaires. Trump, Arena believes, is the best person to buy the town now, and after filing paperwork in October to change his primary residence from Manhattan to Palm Beach County, Trump’s presidential library would make sense here.

According to the Palm Beach Post:

For Briny – as it is known by residents – to be sold, it would have to be approved by property owners representing 67 percent of the town’s shareholders. That’s because Briny is also a corporation run by a board of directors, with the property owners holding corporate “shares.” The better the location of an individual’s property, the more shares that person owns.

Arena said the town’s land owners have little choice but to sell because of major infrastructural issues involving the town’s seawall, fresh water pipes and sewer system that are prohibitively expensive for residents to fix.


“We have to plan for the future of Briny and, unless we have a tremendous amount of money that I don’t know about, that plan needs to include selling Briny on our terms,” Arena said at a meeting with residents last week. “If we get caught with our pants down, we’re going to get much less money and we’re going to be told what to do.”

“It makes a lot of sense for him to do something like that here,” Arena said, noting a future library as well as a hotel, marina and restaurants.

Some homeowners seemed to like Arena’s proposal, even if they are not fans of the president.

“Trump is not my favorite and I would hate to see Briny disappear, but I’m a realist,” Dana Littlefield, a resident in the town since 1955, said “I’ve got 10 grandchildren and we’re talking 10 college educations. If Briny can be sold for a billion dollars, it’s like a no-brainer. That’s a lot of money.”

“As crazy as Trump Town sounds and I don’t like the idea, on the other hand I do like the idea,” Littlefield said. “It’s a wild thought but something we should think about.”

“This is the time for someone to grab this place. Why not Trump?” resident Steve French said.

Others were not so sure.

“I don’t think he’s a particularly good risk,” one woman said at the meeting.

“Bring us a solid offer and we can talk about it,” Maria Santa Cruz, who has lived in the town for two decades, said. “Without an offer, people are not going to accept this as real.”
