MSNBC host slams James Comey for pushing ‘pee tape’ rumor from debunked dossier: He’s ‘out over his skis’

MSNBC is doing damage control after its breathless promotion of the Russia collusion hoax has totally imploded, thanks to the damning IG (Inspector General) report.

MSNBC opinion host Ari Melber threw James Comey under the bus by suggesting that the fired FBI director had pushed the inane rumor about a “pee tape” involving President Trump.

In reality, all of the mainstream media amplified the salacious tabloid gossip to undermine and embarrass President Trump.

But now that Obama-appointed DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz has debunked the Steele dossier and the Russia collusion investigation it launched, the left-wing media are looking for scapegoats. Why? Because the media’s own credibility has imploded along with the Russia collusion hoax they rabidly pushed for three years.

Melber said: “Here’s one that hasn’t gotten much attention but bears down on one of the most salacious things ever rumored about Donald Trump: Those unverified rumors that maybe he could be blackmailed by Putin over a tape of activities that either did or did not occur in a Moscow hotel.”

“For all the talk about this alleged tape, virtually no evidence came forward in public to corroborate it. It sounded like gossip drawn from this unverified dossier, which wasn’t drafted for public consumption — let alone fact-checked.

The [discredited Christopher Steele] dossier claimed the Russians had a file on Trump’s alleged sexual activities that occurred in Russia, and this alleged tape of him with alleged prostitutes at a presidential suite at the Ritz Carlton hotel in Moscow.

That’s a major claim. Just releasing it can really hurt a public figure…After leaving government, Mr. Comey went public with that story in his book and on his book press tour.  Mr. Comey was out over his skis.”

On the surface, the MSNBC monologue appears to be a repudiation of James Comey and the discredited dossier that Hillary Clinton paid for. In reality, it’s a contrived CYA (Cover Your @ss) tactic now that the media’s credibility has been decimated by its nonstop promotion of fake news to gaslight the public.

According to the Democrat narrative hatched in 2016, Donald Trump became a Russian puppet because he was being blackmailed with threats to expose a videotape where he had paid Russian hookers to urinate on a bed.

After an exhaustive investigation, ZERO evidence emerged that the “pee tape” existed. But that didn’t stop the media from screeching about it for the past three years.

In February 2019, Tucker Carlson torched the media for gleefully pushing the salacious rumor and the bogus “Russia collusion” narrative despite a total lack of evidence.

“So the pee tape is not real. There goes the juiciest part of the ‘Trump dossier,’ which you will remember was yet another highly-publicized scoop from BuzzFeed. Good time to be back to those cat videos, fellas!

“Oh wait, so there is no collusion either. There is no Russian blackmail. There is no obstruction of justice. None of the things that our entire media class has spent the last two years huffing and speculating wildly about [are true].”
