Giuliani says State Dept ‘filled’ with plotters: ‘How can you miss this is a coup attempt?’

Rudy Giuliani believes there are players inside the State Department actively working to have President Trump removed from office.

Trump’s personal lawyer agreed that a “concerted effort” is underway at the Department of State to undermine the president as he spoke with Sinclair’s Eric Bolling on “America This Week” in an interview that aired Thursday.

“Is there a deep state? Is there a concerted effort within the organization, within the [State] Department and or the FBI to take down President Trump?” the former Fox News host asked the 75-year-old former New York City mayor.

“Oh yes!” Giuliani replied emphatically. “State Department is filled with them.”

“It isn’t that they disagree with his policies, and even that they try to undermine his policies a bit. That’s been going on for years,” he added.

“They want to get him out of office! Any way they can. How you can miss that this is a coup attempt is beyond being intelligent,” he said, pointing to Democrats for leading the “coup” attempt.

“The FBI and law enforcement have become intimidated by the press,” Giuliani contended.

“So, unless I’m a courageous prosecutor, I know that if I investigate Rudy Giuliani, the New York Times are going to love it,” he said. “But if I would open an investigation into Joe Biden for a bribe that he admitted on tape … If I were to prosecute Biden, I’d get attacked as, ‘You’re doing it to help Trump,’ ‘You’re interfering in the election.’”

He went on to argue that “if you’re a Democratic candidate for president, you don’t get investigated.”

As the House prepared to vote Friday on articles of impeachment against the president, Giuliani was seen arriving at the White House.

Giuliani returned this weekend from a trip to Ukraine where he met with Andriy Derkach, a Ukrainian lawmaker who discussed his nation and the U.S. joining to form a group to fight corruption. The president reportedly called Giuliani as he had just landed to ask about his trip to Ukraine and was told it produced “more than you can imagine.”

Giuliani has continued to advocate and work on behalf of the president even as he faces a federal investigation by prosecutors in New York and his dealings with former associates, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who have been arrested and charged with campaign finance crimes.

*Update: On Friday, after Dems passed articles of impeachment against Trump, Giuliani sounded off on what he believes it’s all about… a cover-up for the Obama administration.
