Rep. Doug Collins apparently reached a point of exasperation during a late night impeachment hearing and stormed out after blasting Democrats.
The House Judiciary ranking member unloaded on the committee about entering articles that are “biased against the president” Thursday before briefly exiting the room.

“It is amazing to me that again, the things that will come out of this markup is not the simple fact that they are going to mark this up and send it to the floor, it is what they will perpetrate to try to hide the weakness of their argument,” the Georgia Republican said, as he rebuked Democrats for their allegations linking Ukraine deaths to U.S. aid.
Democrats accusing President Trump of withholding military aid to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate a political rival contended during the hearing that the hold contributed to the deaths of thousands of Ukrainians.
Collins rebutted their arguments and referred back to an October article in the Los Angeles Times which had been discussed earlier and that Democrats wanted to enter into the record.
“Let’s keep putting stuff in here that proves your pathetic argument! The article itself–which is biased against the president–actually said there’s no way to link it but yet we are doing that every time here. Keep giving them, I’ll keep accepting them!” he said.
Things got heated here when Doug Collins refused to allow Eric Swalwell to submit this article for the record. Swalwell walked across the dais and handed article to Collins, who read it and said it had actually made his point. He then accused Swalwell of “besmirching the dead” https://t.co/1Qs12wlo0C

“Wonderful article! Great job! Because you’re making my point,” a clearly frustrated Collins exclaimed.
“I guess I withdraw my objection on this. It makes my point, you have anymore you want to put in, keep going. This is not going to get you anywhere. I yield back,” he said and stood up to exit the room.
The Georgia lawmaker did return and later blasted Chairman Jerry Nadler for postponing the vote.

Before Collins had abruptly left the hearing, he had locked horns with Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California who slammed the temporary suspension of military aid to Ukraine by the White House.
“You can deny this as much as you want. People died in Ukraine at the hands of Russia. And Ukraine … was counting on our support,” he had said. “But they died when this selfish, selfish president withheld the aid for his own personal gain.”
“We know people died. Let me explain it to you: wars, people die,” Collins responded. “Is that difficult to understand?”

“I did not say no one died,” the upset congressman, who serves as a chaplain in the US Air Force Reserve and was deployed to Iraq, said. “No one said that. And you can accuse whatever because you’re just sitting there just telling untruths. Because you don’t get it because you have a personal agenda.”
