Democrats are so confident that their lame impeachment stunt will stop President Trump that they’re already laying the groundwork to impeach him again when he gets re-elected.
Congresswoman Karen Bass of California is hoping that Democrats will win control of the Senate in 2020. If so, she wants to dust off her flailing party’s impeachment con game to do it again. Bass made the remarks to the celebrity gossip website TMZ.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin said: “There’s no such thing as double jeopardy in an impeachment trial because it’s political. Suppose he gets reelected and you win back the Senate in a big way. If you did that, would you be inclined to take a second bite at the apple and reintroduce the exact same impeachment articles and then send it through again a second time if you have a Democratic Senate on your side?”
Bass said of course. However, she insisted that Democrats would try a different tactic by invoking different articles of impeachment the next time — perhaps involving the Russia collusion hoax.
“Yes…[but] I don’t think it would be exactly the same and here’s why: Because even though we are impeaching him now, there’s still a number of court cases, there’s a ton of information that could come forward,” Bass said. “It might not be the same articles of impeachment because the odds are we would have a ton more information.”
In other words, Bass wants to impeach Trump for hypothetical crimes that haven’t occurred and may never occur.

Reminder: Impeachment is meant to be an extraordinary measure taken when a president commits treason, bribery, or other “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
Impeachment is not supposed to be used casually to prevent a sitting president’s re-election or to harass him because you don’t like him.
Despite the nonstop leftist accusations that President Trump tried to bribe Ukraine’s president on his July phone call, the articles of impeachment the Democrats unveiled specifically did not include “bribery” (which is an impeachable offense).
Keep in mind that this was the Democrats’ original reason for breathlessly shrieking that Trump HAD TO BE impeached. Now, they changed their approach due to a lack of evidence.
“You heard all about bribery, quid pro quo, and extortion. Those are criminal conduct — none of that’s been alleged,” said Republican Congressman John Katko.
Instead, Democrats filed two articles of impeachment — for the vague “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress.”

Fox News contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy responded to Karen Bass’ admission that she’s open to impeaching Trump again by torching the Democratic Party.
“It just underscores what we have always known: That they are not concerned about facts, that they’re completely obsessed with getting rid of Trump,” Campos-Duffy told Fox News. “That all of those investigations from the Russia hoax to Ukraine, all of those things have been about trying to find a crime and fit it somehow into this impeachment narrative.”
Campos-Duffy, the wife of former Republican Congressman Sean Duffy, pointed to a new poll that shows that 58% of voters in her home state of Wisconsin oppose impeachment.
“Democrats are willing to sacrifice winning in 2020…because this is wildly unpopular where I live here in the middle of America, which is Wisconsin and the Midwest,” Campos-Duffy said.
