Singer Linda Ronstadt rudely jabbed at Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a State Department reception for recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors lifetime achievement awards. Ronstadt, an honoree, haughtily demanded that Pompeo “stop enabling Donald Trump.”

The brouhaha erupted when Pompeo — who was hosting the pre-awards State Department reception on Saturday — paid homage to Ronstadt by invoking the words from her 1975 hit song, “When I Be Loved.”

During the pre-dinner welcome address, Pompeo joked: “As I travel the world, I wonder when will I be loved.”

When Ronstadt — a noted Trump-hater — addressed the audience shortly afterward, she groused:  “I’d like to say to Mr. Pompeo, who wonders when he’ll be loved, it’s when he stops enabling Donald Trump.”  At the time, Pompeo was standing a few feet away from her.

The Kennedy Center awards were held Sunday night. President Trump did not attend the annual event because left-wing entertainers had in the past threatened to boycott it if he showed up.

However, Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi did attend the awards ceremony and received a standing ovation from the left-wing audience.

Like many in the Hollywood crowd, Linda Ronstadt, 73, despises President Trump.

In 2014, Barack Obama presented Ronstadt with a National Medal of Arts award and claimed that he had a crush on her when he was a kid. Naturally, Ronstadt — being a self-obsessed entertainer — lapped up the flattery.

Obama said in July 2014:  “I told Linda Ronstadt that I had a crush on her back in the day.”

Ronstadt was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2012.

President Trump was wise to avoid the Kennedy Center gala, which has celebrated high-profile sex predators Harvey Weinstein, Al Franken, Kevin Spacey and Charlie Rose.

While leftist celebrities pay extravagant lip service to opposing Trump and “championing the oppressed,” in reality, most just talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.

This hypocrisy was spotlighted when conservative actor Robert Davi challenged Hollywood leftists who oppose Trump to invite illegal aliens and unvetted refugees to the Academy Awards without their armed security detail.

Davi said if they refuse to invite these needy folks, then they’re racist (the way they claim Trump is):

“I propose that Meryl Steep, Chelsea Handler, Richard Gere, Robert DeNiro, Christoph Waltz and others lead an Oscar first: let’s do away with the rules, barriers, and tickets to the Oscars and after-parties, such as the swanky Vanity Fair party or the Weinsteins’ star-studded affair.

I ask all migrants, all illegal immigrant criminals and all unvetted refugees to converge on Hollywood to come to the Oscars and all the after-parties, even those held at the mansions or the Chateau Marmont or anywhere else.

I find it curious that when President Obama did the same exact thing — and more — in terms of enforcing the law on illegal immigration, the Hollywood elite were silent.

Why were they silent then, but are so vocal now when President Trump is doing basically the same thing? Is Hollywood racist? Why — when Christians are being slaughtered in Syria, Iraq, and other places in the Middle East — is Hollywood silent?”

Davi — the son of legal immigrants — said Hollywood should lead by example and show the world that they do more than parrot empty words.
