One of the heroes identified in the London Bridge terror attack was a Polish chef who used a five-foot narwhal tusk to bring down the attacker.
The chef named Lukasz reportedly grabbed the ornamental piece from the wall where he worked at nearby Fishmongers Hall, where the rampage began during a prison rehabilitation event as convicted terrorist Usman Khan proceeded to slash at people with a kitchen knife, killing two.

Lukasz and another person brandishing a fire extinguisher were hailed as heroes for their part in subduing Khan who was shot and killed by police.

Photos and video circulating on social media show how the chef tried to use the tusk to pin down the 28-year-old who was reportedly wearing a fake suicide vest.

“Luckasz grabbed a nearby pole and ran at him, getting stabbed in the hand in the process but continued to pin him down,” the chef’s colleague told The Times. “Being stabbed didn’t stop him giving him a beating. Luckasz is a hero.”

“I express my enduring thanks to the police and emergency services, as well as the brave individuals who put their own lives at risk to selflessly help and protect others,” Queen Elizabeth II said in a statement.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan was in “awe of the people who ran toward danger to keep us all safe.”
“They had no idea whether this man had a bomb you could detonate by pressing a button, they had no idea how many other people were involved. What do they do? They run toward him,” he said.

Police confirmed that two people, a man and a woman, had died from the attack before Khan was killed.
