Ben Carson blasted Rep. Maxine Waters for her “shamelessness” in ignoring the plight of her own constituents while grandstanding in her attacks against President Trump.

The Housing and Urban Development secretary ripped into the California Democrat in a scathing letter obtained by Politico, calling out her hypocrisy and accusing her of lacking “basic manners.”

“My mother always taught me that people shouldn’t throw rocks, especially while they live in a glass house,” Carson wrote.

“Because of that wise lesson, I was a little surprised to read your hostile letter to President Trump regarding the record number of homeless Americans in California, particularly in your district,” the retired neurosurgeon added, referring to a letter Waters wrote to President Trump last month.

The congresswoman had confronted the White House about reports that the Trump administration was considering a “crackdown” on homeless camps in Los Angeles in an effort to get people off the street.

“Your shamelessness knows no bounds,” Waters told Trump in her October letter, demanding details on his administration’s “reported plans to unilaterally demolish homeless tent camps and relocate homeless individuals to federally-owned facilities.”

“From day one of your presidency, you have attacked our democracy and now you have set your ire on the 550,000 Americans who on any given night experience homelessness,” she added.

Carson used the Democrat’s own words against her, slamming her own lack of action and tone-deaf attempt to blame Trump for problems festering in her own back yard.

“Shamelessness is a career politician of 30 years laying blame,” he wrote.

“Shamelessness is allowing more than 55,000 Americans to live on the very streets they represent,” he added, noting the number of homeless in Los Angeles city and county.

“To me, the most compassionate, obvious, and logical solution would be to get as many homeless Americans off the streets — with a roof over their heads — as soon as humanly possible,” Carson wrote.

“I have sent multiple letters to your office and requested numerous meetings, but each time you’ve refused,” the HUD chief added. “Basic manners elude you and it seems that instead of producing results, you’re more interested in producing cheap headlines at the President’s expense — like a true career politician.”

Waters fired back at Carson, who “is like a duck out of water” and called him a “complete failure at HUD” in a statement to The Hill Tuesday.

“Most recently, it was reported that he and this disgraceful President want to raze homeless camps, round up persons experiencing homelessness and force them to live in unused and unsuitable federal buildings,” Waters said.

“All of this demonstrates his lack of competence as HUD secretary and the cruelty of this Administration. Instead of whining about his inability to get on my schedule, he should take some time to focus on the over half a million people experiencing homelessness in this country,” she added.

Waters maintained that “we have yet to see any productive solutions come out of this dysfunctional and corrupt Administration,” arguing that Carson “should contain his tantrums and leave his mother out of this.”

The Democrat lawmaker has jabbed Carson before and is a regular, vocal critic of the president. Touting a bill she introduced to combat homelessness back in the summer, Waters again displayed her amazing lack of self-awareness when she slammed the president for the “disgrace” that has plagued her own district for years before Trump even entered the White House.

Carson was sure to remind Waters that the “booming economy” ushered in by Trump is exactly what is needed for combating homelessness.

“The most important thing we can do at the federal level for housing affordability is to provide for a thriving economy where jobs are growing, wages are rising, and unemployment is falling,” he wrote. “Thanks to Trump’s policies, that is exactly what we have today — a booming economy.”
