But wait, there’s more! Pelosi says impeachment inquiry not limited to Ukraine issue

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is now saying the partisan impeachment inquiry led by the Democrats in Congress could go beyond just the issue of Ukraine.

“What we’re talking about now is taking us into a whole other class of objection to what the president has done. And there may be other — there were 11 obstruction of justice provisions in the Mueller report. Perhaps some of them will be part of this,” Pelosi told Bloomberg Television on Friday. “But again, that will be part of the inquiry, to see where we go.”

Pelosi then tried putting a good spin on the inquiry, insisting the investigation has nothing to do with the president’s “personality” or “policies.”

“This is not about his personality, his policies. That’s for the election. This is about the Constitution. This is about defending our democracy,” she said.

Pelosi also said she believes public hearings will begin this month, but the case against Trump needs to be “ironclad.”

The allegation that Trump pressured Ukraine into investigating former Vice President Joe Biden already barely has a leg to stand on, considering the transcript of the phone call in question between Trump and Ukraine’s president has been released and disproves everything Democrats are saying. There are legitimate questions about whether the initial whistleblower complaint is contrived and politically motivated.

Pelosi bringing up the Mueller report shows Democrats are grasping at straws and continuing to play a game of political theater. Mueller never said the president was guilty of obstruction of justice. His nothing-burger of a report merely presented instances where Trump could have been guilty of obstruction of justice. It was a politically motivated move that had no place in the presentation of the findings of an investigation.

And if Mueller could not find proof of wrongdoing after spending tens of millions of dollars of taxpayer money and years of his time then what do House Democrats think they are capable of digging up?

The impeachment inquiry has not slowed the president’s momentum, however. He appeared in Tupelo, Mississippi on Friday evening where he touted the successes of his administration and ripped Democrats for going off the deep end.

“America is winning again, and America is all over the world respected again. It’s about time!” Trump said to a fiery crowd. “But while we’re creating jobs and killing terrorists, the Democrat Party has gone completely insane. The radical left is determined to transform America into a country you would not recognize.”

He called the recent vote in the House to pass a resolution on impeachment inquiry rules “an attack.

“Yesterday’s vote by the radical Democrats is an attack on democracy itself,” he said.
