New York City streets have become a backdrop for a political stunt promoting the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
Several trucks with electronic signage that reads “IMPEACH” have been spotted driving around Manhattan recently, sparking questions about who could be funding the anti-Trump campaign.

The messages, in bold letters on all sides of the trucks, have been documented by New Yorkers including conservative radio host Todd Schnitt who noted the “truck derangement syndrome” in a video he posted on Twitter Tuesday.

It was not yet clear who is behind the stunt or where the funding for the trucks has come from.
Billionaire and 2020 presidential hopeful Tom Steyer previously funded a billboard blaring “IMPEACH!” over Times Square, with an invite to “sign the petition” he launched to impeach Trump back in 2017.

He also funded an advertising campaign attacking the president. Trump had responded to the Democrat by calling him “wacky” and “totally unhinged.”

The White House on Tuesday slammed Democrats for their ongoing impeachment inquiry which “has been an illegitimate sham from the start,” reacting to the latest move by House Democrats who released procedures for public hearings in a new resolution that is scheduled for a floor vote later this week.
“This resolution does nothing to change the fundamental fact that House Democrats refuse to provide basic due process rights to the Administration,” press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the trucks roaming New York City sparked plenty of reactions on social media as Twitter users mocked the effort.
