Trump kicks off weekend riding Pelosi for leaving her district in squalor to chase impeachment

President Trump launched an attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her focus on his impeachment while ignoring the mess in her own backyard.

The president called out the California Democrat for being more concerned about impeaching him than in taking responsibility for the “very bad and dangerous” San Francisco district that she represents.

“I can’t believe that Nancy Pelosi’s District in San Francisco is in such horrible shape that the City itself is in violation of many sanitary & environmental orders, causing it to owe the Federal Government billions of dollars – and all she works on is Impeachment,” Trump tweeted early Saturday.

He went on to urge cooperation in addressing the “hazardous waste and homeless sites” that threaten to “rot away” the California city that is facing double-digit increases in its homeless population.

“We should all work together to clean up these hazardous waste and homeless sites before the whole city rots away,” the president tweeted. “Very bad and dangerous conditions, also severely impacting the Pacific Ocean and water supply. Pelosi must work on this mess and turn her District around!”

Trump told reporters last month that San Francisco was in “total violation” of environmental rules and that he was considering “giving them a notice very soon” from the Environmental Protection Agency over the waste – and especially used needles from drug users – that ended up in the Pacific Ocean.

“They’re in serious violation,” Trump said aboard Air Force One on a return trip from California “They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell.”

The president had blasted Pelosi about her district before, tweeting in July that San Francisco was “not even recognizable lately.”

Trump expressed his frustration with Democrat-run cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles where the drug and homelessness crises threaten public safety.

“I really believe that it hurts our country,” he told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson in an interview in July.

Federal data last year indicated that California has the highest number of homeless in the country, with over 8,000 in the city of San Francisco and an estimated 59,000 in Los Angeles County, according to The New York Times. Meanwhile in Los Angeles, approval of $1.2 billion to build apartments for the homeless has yet to show any results as three years later, the first building has yet to be completed.

Perhaps Pelosi can look to the freshman congresswomen in her caucus who are essentially proposing a home giveaway as a solution to what Rep. Ilhan Omar called the “moral stain” of homelessness in America.

The Minnesota Democrat touted new legislation that would “guarantee” everyone a home, bankrolled by American taxpayers, of course.
