Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt delivered a scathing assessment of Rep. Adam Schiff during a panel discussion on House Democrats’ attempt to impeach President Donald Trump.
Hewitt called out the House Intelligence Committee chairman’s performance in an earlier segment with MSNBC host Chuck Todd, telling the “Meet the Press” panel Sunday that Schiff essentially “destroyed his credibility.”

“He went full Alice in Wonderland Queen of Hearts: Verdict first, trial later,” Hewitt said, referring to the interview in which Schiff spoke on whether Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani would be asked to testify before Congress.
“I believe he destroyed his credibility this morning, on this show, as a fair arbiter of this process,” Hewitt said.

Hewitt went on to address the previous comments about “the middle” view on the latest controversy sparked by a whistleblower complaint that alleged, through second-hand information, that Trump pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky into investigating former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine.
“There actually is a middle here. The middle is narrow,” New York Times Magazine’s Mark Leibovich, told the “Meet the Press” panel. “It would behoove certainly Democrats to do this as quickly as possible… to actually win over maybe a 10 percent who are in the middle of this who are actually amenable to some facts that could potentially change their mind on some things.”
Hewitt countered that “the middle is tired of investigating President Trump. It has gone on for two years.”
“The most interesting part of the Nancy Pelosi decision to go for a fast impeachment is the implicit but very real concession that the Mueller report had no impeachable offense – no obstruction, no collusion. It’s gone!” Hewitt continued. “So Adam Schiff is biased and Nancy Pelosi has admitted that Mueller exonerated Trump.”
Later in the segment, Hewitt discussed the perception of Giuliani’s involvement as he warned critics about dismissing him or leveling attacks against him.
“It feels like if things get really bad for the president, Rudy is already looking like the easiest scapegoat,” Todd remarked, noting that Republicans are “ready to turn on him.”
“Could Rudy be the guy that everybody concentrates their, ‘yeah, I don’t like this, don’t impeach the president. Rudy is a bad guy,'” Todd asked Hewitt.
“He’s not John Dean,” he replied, “and the one thing we have to be careful of is while he indeed is an object of scorn often inside the beltway, he cuts through everything outside the beltway. When you go to Warren, Ohio, people hear him, and they respect him and they listen to him.”
