The woman who confronted Beto O’Rourke in Colorado on his gun confiscation plans blasted the 2020 hopeful for exploiting shooting tragedies for his own campaign.
“Shame on you, sir,” Lauren Boebert addressed the former Texas congressman during an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Saturday, speaking about what motivated her to travel several hours to be at the town hall event held Thursday in Aurora, a city which experienced a tragic mass shooting in 2012 when a gunman killed 12 people and wounded more than 50 at a movie theater.

“Shame on him for coming to Colorado to expound upon our tragedies — those are our victims and he came here to paint a picture for his own campaign trail and really, shame on you, sir, for doing that,” she said.
“We were here. We experienced those losses. That was a community loss and honestly, those victims were defenseless,” Boebert added, noting that the criminals who perpetrate these shootings are not going to be bound by any laws to legislate gun ownership.
“There is no legislation that you can pass that is going to stop the evil in a man’s heart,” Boebert asserted.
The business owner confronted O’Rourke Thursday and challenged him on his mandatory buyback program which would target high-powered weapons.

“I am here to say: Hell, no, you’re not,” Lauren Boebert told O’Rourke Thursday, referring back to his “hell yes” comment during last week’s presidential debate question on whether, if elected, he would take guns like the AR-15 away from law-abiding citizens.
“I have four children, I am 5-foot-0, 100 pounds, cannot really defend myself with a fist. … I want to know how you’re going to legislate that because a criminal by [definition] breaks the law, so all you’re going to do is restrict law-abiding citizens, like myself,” she told the Democrat amid heckling from others in the crowd.
Boebert told Jenkins Saturday that she was sure that every gun owner’s reaction to O’Rourke’s “hell, yes” comments was “an immediate, firm hell, no!”
Boebert, who owns a restaurant called Shooters Grill where her staff caries firearms, had a message for President Trump as well.
“Our current administration absolutely needs to take a stand now, today, and say we will honor the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States,” she said.
“We support our president. I love my president and I implore him: Please protect our Second Amendment. We elected you to do just that,” Boebert added.
The 32-year-old reportedly drove three hours to O’Rourke’s town hall event from the town of Rifle, according to the Denver Post, which noted that as she spoke to the Democrat, “her Glock handgun was holstered at her side.”
O’Rourke declared he would confiscate “military-style” weapons from gun owners if he is elected and has doubled down on his comments in the wake of several recent mass shootings, including in his own town of El Paso, Texas where a gunman shot and killed 22 people at a Walmart last month.
“Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” he said at the Democratic primary debate.
