In honor of the 18th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, on Wednesday President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump both posted tweets that pictured them standing on a balcony underneath or above the words “We Will Never Forget.”
While conservatives appeared to respond to the posts by issuing their own Sept. 11 tributes and thanking the president for his efforts to protect America from further terror attacks, many on the left reacted to it with scorn, derision, and highly disturbing conspiracy theories.

While you may see nothing wrong with the posts, conspiracy theorists on the left saw a hidden message. According to them, the trim lacing on the bottom portion of Melania’s coat looked like an airplane crashing into a skyscraper …
“I’m sure I’m not the first one to spot this but who in the world thought it was a good idea for Melania to wear this coat in the 9/11 photo. It legit looks like an object is flying into a tower or the Washington Monument,” one conspiracy theorist opined on Twitter.
“Is…is that a plane crashing into one of the twin towers in the back of Melania’s coat?!?” another asked.
Included among the conspiracy theorists were even some notable blue-check-mark individuals:

Okay, look.
First of all, it’s not about you.
Second of all, who thought the embroidery on this coat was a good idea to wear on #September11? #NeverForget #WorldTradeCenter #TwinTowers#NeverForgotten #remember911 #911Memorial #UnitedWeStand pic.twitter.com/TzBFK9V4hM

What the heck is on Melania’s skirt? It’s like a huge Washington Monument being quite untoward. Melania knew that weird skirt design would grab all the attention. On a 9/11 photo shoot, she made it all about her. Who says she’s not a Trump? https://t.co/kMPPcvG5ng pic.twitter.com/EPDKiBGE4S

Did they fire all the stylists too or is Melania just the biggest troll ever?? pic.twitter.com/lhLfBCFKwi— Mrs. John ❤ Shepard (@loveShepard4eva) September 11, 2019

It’s not clear whether these people simply suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome or whether they happen to be actual schizophrenics.
Responding to these bizarre complaints, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said to USA Today, “It’s ridiculous.”
Some of the tweets about the president and first lady’s Sept. 11 pictures were also stunningly hypocritical, given how many times that former President Barack Hussein had celebrated events and people by sharing photos of himself.
Yet the same sorts of far-left celebrities, pundits and “journalists” who never spoke ill of Obama were quick to slam the Trumps for sharing photos of themselves on 9/11:
OMFG I just realized that the day we remember the 3000 lives lost on 9/11, President Trump has tweeted out a photo featuring only himself and his wife. https://t.co/csJpyaPe9z

While it’s unclear whether any of them ever cried foul during Obama’s tenure in office, the chances seem unlikely given how much adoration the former president routinely received.
Nevertheless, here are just a few examples of Obama celebrating events/people with selfies:

In remarks made at the Pentagon early Wednesday morning, the current president made it clear that, though he’d posted a photo to Twitter of himself and his wife for Sept. 11, all he really had on his mind and in his heart were the thousands of Americans died during the terror attacks 18 years ago.
“Today, our nation honors and mourns the nearly 3,000 lives that were stolen from us on September 11th, 2001. On these grounds, 184 people were murdered when al Qaeda terrorists overtook American Airlines Flight 77 and crashed it into the Pentagon,” he said.
“For every American who lived through that day, the September 11th attack is seared into our soul. It was a day filled with shock, horror, sorrow, and righteous fury.”
