Marianne Williamson has had a revelation about the left.
The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate defended herself against false stories and labels she said the left has heaped upon her, telling the New Yorker’s David Remnick in an interview released on Tuesday that she had no idea the left was “so mean.”

The self-help author discussed the many comments she has made that she believes were misconstrued by the left as well as outright lies she accused critics of spreading in her time as a 2020 hopeful.
“The worst aspects of human character have been harnessed for political purposes,” she told Remnick in the interview in which she attempted to debunk characterizations of her that she claims are false.
There has “never been a crystal on stage” at any of her events, she clarified, and she insisted and “there is no crystal” in her home despite descriptions circulating about her using crystals and of “crystal gazing.” She also tried to clarify her remarks about vaccinations, something she had to do back in July as she created some confusion with her stand on holistic healing.
Misrepresentations of my work are in high gear this morning, so just in case it need be said: I am not anti-vaxx. I am pro-science & medicine. I’ve never suggested to anyone they should pray away their illness & not see a doctor. I’ve never blamed a victim nor fat-shamed anyone.

She also countered accusations that she told AIDS victims not to take medications and that “love” is “enough to cure their diseases.”
If you ever read an article saying that I told people with AIDS they didn’t have to take their medicine because positive thinking would cure it; or that I ever told people who got sick that negative thinking caused it; please know both those things are complete and utter lies.

Williamson has had to clarify her positions and many of her comments over the course of her campaign as critics have characterized her as someone who is anti-science and doesn’t believe in traditional medical treatments.
“I’m Jewish, I go to the doctor,” Williamson told Remnick.
She seemed surprised by the intensity of the left’s criticisms against her.
“I know this sounds naïve,” she said. “I didn’t think the left was so mean. I didn’t think the left lied like this.”
The activist and New York Times best-selling author was roundly mocked again Wednesday for posting and then deleting a tweet saying the “power of the mind” and prayer could help steer Hurricane Dorian away from land.

Liberals immediately shredded Williamson before she took the tweet down.
Well obviously, she didn’t pray, visualize and meditate long enough to help the Bahamas.

This should 100% disqualify you from being taken seriously in a presidential primary https://t.co/edJ3hUi3QR

She fired back a response to HuffPost contributor Yashar Ali, asking for an “opportunity to counter the caricature.”
Since you obviously want to debunk, counter or mischaracterize anything I do, would you like to have an honest and fair public dialogue? Since I’m neither crazy, irresponsible nor dangerous, I would appreciate the opportunity to counter the caricature.

Patricia Ewing, a Williamson campaign spokeswoman, told CNN in an email that the original post “was a metaphor” and was replaced because it “led to confusion.”
“When others speak of prayer and the mind it’s considered profound, but Williamson is held to a different standard,” Ewing wrote.
The self-help guru will not be appearing in September’s debate in Houston as she failed to qualify by not meeting the polling minimum, though she did meet the set fundraising threshold.
