Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders torched Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell during a campaign stop in Kentucky on Sunday.
During a blistering speech, Sanders demanded that McConnell stop his “cowardice” and his “obstructing,” and “have the guts” to pass gun-control laws.
Irony alert: It’s laughable for any Democrat to demand that any Republican “stop obstructing,” since obstructing President Donald Trump is the only thing the Democratic Party has done since the day he took office.
“I am talking the need for gun safety legislation, and I am talking about legislation to protect the integrity of our elections,” Sanders said. “These are just some of the issues that the American people are crying out to have resolved, to have debated, and to have voted upon.”
Sanders continued, “But instead of taking action to address any of these crises, Mitch McConnell is obstructing, obstructing and obstructing! He is refusing to allow a vote on any of the bills that have been introduced in the Senate or passed already in the House to address these crises.”
“So today, we are here to say as loudly as we can to Mitch McConnell: Enough is enough! Stop the obstruction…to end gun violence in America, to improve the integrity of our elections.”
“You don’t have the right to stop democracy in the United States Senate. Stop your cowardice! Have the guts to debate the issues!”

Of course, it doesn’t help the radical left that they have resorted to threats, bullying, and violence to get their way.
As BizPac Review reported, an angry mob gathered outside Senator McConnell’s home in Kentucky two weeks ago, demanding that he pass gun-control laws.
In addition to holding signs that read “Massacre Mitch!” the leftist thugs screamed at the top of their lungs: “F**k you, f**k yo wife! Murder Turtle! Murder Turtle! Murder Turtle!”
(Turtle is an insulting moniker the left calls McConnell because they claim he looks like a turtle).bl
Two weeks ago, President Trump promised his supporters that he would “always uphold the Second Amendment” in the face of mounting attacks on gun owners by the left.
“We can’t make it harder for good, solid, law-abiding citizens to protect themselves,” Trump said at a rally in New Hampshire. “We will always uphold the right to self-defense. And we will always uphold the Second Amendment.”
While the Left is calling for stricter gun laws following the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, they blithely ignore the fact that multiple shootings occur every weekend in the Democratic-led city of Chicago — which has among the toughest gun-control laws in the United States.
Similarly, the recent shooting of six police officers in Philadelphia (which has strict gun-control laws) underscores that these laws don’t deter criminals. The suspect in the Philadelphia shootings was arrested a dozen times, with six convictions involving illegal gun possession.
Moreover, most mass shootings take place in “gun-free” zones. Criminals always find a way to get their hands on a gun — no matter what laws are in place.
Gun-control laws only limit the Second Amendment rights of people who obey the law in the first place.
