While the left continues to beat the drum for open borders, U.S. Border Patrol agents have been working hard to protect American families from criminals illegally entering the country.

A previously deported child rapist and a man wanted for murder in his country were among the latest to be apprehended by Border Patrol.

Carlos Blancas-Rojas was arrested by Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Brian A. Terry Station on Wednesday, determining he was not only in the U.S. illegally, he had a conviction from a Washington state court for the Rape of a Child in 2008.

The 37-year-old Mexican national has an active warrant in Washington and further background checks revealed that he was already removed from the United States twice, the second deportation after his felony conviction. Blancas-Rojas is now facing federal felony charges for illegally re-entering the U.S. after being deported as an aggravated felon. If he is convicted, he will be looking at up to 20 years in federal prison – on American taxpayers’ dime.

Earlier this month, Border Patrol agents also stopped a murder suspect from France.

The Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station arrested a French citizen who was wanted for murder by Interpol while conducting an inland border security inspection on a passenger bus at the checkpoint which sees more than 10,000 vehicles travel through each day.

Marouana Bah, a 30-year-old citizen of France, was determined to be in the U.S. illegally and in possession of a passport that did not belong to him, according to CBP.

A background investigation revealed his identity and the Interpol warrant for the murder charge from France.

“This arrest highlights our law enforcement collaboration, including partnerships well beyond our borders. This wanted international fugitive attempted to remain in the U.S. illegally and was stopped by the diligent work of our Border Patrol agents,” Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak said, according to CBP.

The Big Bend Sector extends from Sierra Blanca, Texas to Sanderson, Texas, an area of 517 miles along the southwest border that is patrolled by Border Patrol agents.

The agency noted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations in Boston took over the investigation and will work with French officials in returning Bah.

Border Patrol and immigration officials have repeatedly sounded the alarm about the situation at the southern U.S. border, echoing President Trump’s warnings though Democrats and the left seem to be in denial.

In just the last few days, Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector stopped five different attempts to smuggle drugs across the border, seizing over $1.2 million in narcotics.

Three smugglers and five bundles of marijuana, weighing over 110 pounds and worth about $91,000, were seized by Fort Brown agents while another 680 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $546,000 were recovered by Rio Grande City, Texas agents a few days later.

Similar seizures were made in other Texas cities including Garciasville, Brownsville and Bluetown.
