A San Francisco woman’s harrowing attack by a homeless man as she attempted to enter her condominium complex was caught in a surveillance video.
The disturbing footage showed Paneez Kosarianfard being assaulted at about 1:30 a.m. at the Watermark condos on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, as the homeless man pulled her to the ground and repeatedly struggled with her as she tried to get into the building.

The man, identified as 25-year-old Austin James Vincent, was allegedly trying to save her from robots while attempting to gain access to the building, KRON-TV reported. The video showed how a security guard inside tried to assist Kosarianfard while struggling to keep Vincent out as she called police.
“At first, he was trying to tell me that he was trying to save my life,” Kosarianfard told KRON-TV.
“He asked me to open the door so he could go and kill our concierge or front desk lady and earn my trust,” she said, explaining that he claimed everyone was a robot and he had to save people on earth.
A woman was attacked by an apparent homeless man at a condo complex on the Embarcadero in San Francisco, and the assault was captured on surveillance video. Critics say it’s further proof a planned homeless center in the area is a bad idea. https://t.co/39SWhE6Qgn pic.twitter.com/2U4rXlvclN

“The first time I thought I was safe, but I wasn’t. He came in with us,” Kosarianfard told KNTV. “But the second time, the moment when we closed the door, and we were safe, that feeling of I’m safe and I survived after fighting for so long is irreversible.”

The attack comes amid an ongoing argument by neighbors that a navigation center for the homeless, planned to be built near the condo, is sure to promote more violent crimes. Kosarianfard, who said the attack left her with bruises and nerve damage, told the station that it took the San Francisco Police Department nearly 35 minutes to arrive after the building’s security guard called in.
Despite the video showing Vincent’s assault of the young woman, he was released “on assertive case management,” according to a spokesman for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, which initially charged him with false imprisonment, attempted robbery and two counts of battery.
Spoke to @MattHaneySF today over the phone – I requested that he makes the safety of our district his number one priority. I really hope that as our elected representative, he will follow through and push for a change in our “justice” system and keep us safe! #savesf pic.twitter.com/0Ueczi3QCM

Vincent pleaded not guilty on Tuesday when he was arraigned. Kosarianfard, who has lived at the condo complex for six years and feels she can no longer stay there, shared the news on Twitter.
I was informed this morning that the man that viciously attacked me Saturday night poses no threat to the residents of San Francisco “because he was on drugs and couldn’t think clearly” and has been released pending his trail (30days away) #irresponsible @EmbarcaderoSafe

Kosarianfard also took to Twitter to appeal to California’s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom to “save our city.”
@GavinNewsom Please watch this video of me getting attacked at my front door less than 72-hrs ago. The man who attacked me was released this morning because the judge, Christine Van Aken believes that this man is not a danger to our community. PLEASE SAVE OUR CITY!! #savesf pic.twitter.com/XGzmtSLQpP

Kosarianfard’s focus was on the judge, Christine Van Aken, who was apparently appointed by former Gov. Jerry Brown, also a Democrat.
I need answers!! @JerryBrownGov @GavinNewsom recall judge Christine Van Aken, she is not fit for this job and is putting all of our lives in danger. What are you waiting for? Please, you have to do something. #recallchristinevanaken
— Paneez Kosarianfard (@paneezkosarian) August 15, 2019
Yes!!! And she needs to be recalled NOW before someone else gets attacked and who knows maybe die this time. Please support me in demanding her to step down.

But the victim of Vincent’s attack also said she no longer wants to live in San Francisco where criminals “are not getting punished.”
MORE: “I just told my husband we are moving out of San Francisco. I don’t want to be in a city knowing that there could be criminals anywhere… Every inch of the city could be filled with criminals… They’re not getting punished. So I don’t want to live here anymore.” pic.twitter.com/eWL7foQwMA

Many reacting to the report focused on the rampant homelessness in the city, as in other Democratic-run California cities like Los Angeles, and how efforts to house people in structures or temporary shelters ultimately endangers residents.
It’s remarkable that someone can have a complete psychotic break, attack a woman in public with intent to commit murder (he said he was going to kill the security guard), and then get released into the general public pending trial.
Sorry, not “remarkable.” Insane.

⚠️ What’s missing from here:
Mr. Vincent was recently (Jan 2019) apprehended by Indiana PD in South Bend. WHY did he come to #SanFrancisco? And WHY are our officials deliberately placing #violentcriminals smack in the middle of a dense residential community? ?@nbcbayarea https://t.co/LpwtB55moG

Glad there wasn’t serious injuries, but this is almost to be expected when SF is basically one giant open air asylum.

I don’t think most people realize how bad most of California has become. Massive debt, homelessness, ridic tax rates, cost of living, dirty, etc. Unfortunately this is what happens when liberal policies come to fruition.

@GavinNewsom doesn’t care, neither do the politicians running your city. I just moved from the Bay Area, it’s spreading and only getting worse. Want change? Vote these jokers out of office.

In states which are not run by Democrat lunatics, citizens are allowed to brandish a firearm in defense of self and others.
