President Donald Trump said Congress must make sure that strict voter ID laws are included in any “final agreement” on election security in order to ensure a fair election.
Trump tweeted: “No debate on Election Security should go forward without first agreeing that Voter ID (Identification) must play a very strong part in any final agreement. Without Voter ID, it is all so meaningless!”

Trump’s tweets came as Democrats pressure Republican Mitch McConnell — the Senate Majority leader — to push two election security bills through the Senate that the Democrat-led House of Representatives passed.
Democrats — who for decades mocked Republicans for caring about “election security” — are suddenly screeching about it amid reports that Russia had tried to interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
Despite paying lip service to “election security,” Democrats overwhelmingly oppose voter ID laws, which they claim is racist.
Playing the Race Card in this instance is ridiculous, when you consider that you need an ID to get a driver’s license, buy alcohol, open a bank account, apply for food stamps, get on an airplane, enter college campus buildings, and pick up a prescription. But you don’t need an ID to vote?

Former Congressman Jason Chaffetz slammed the Democrats’ disingenuous push for “election security,” saying it’s yet another ploy to secure more power.
“After years of mocking Republicans’ election security concerns, denying the very existence of voter fraud and fighting voter ID laws, Democrats have suddenly found religion on the issue of election security,” Chaffetz wrote.
He added: “There’s one problem: it’s all just a pretext. The Democrats don’t actually care about election security. What they care about is securing power.”
Chaffetz said the bill the Democrats are pushing “would impose more than 30 consequential new federal mandates on state governments. It would essentially reverse our election process from a bottom-up approach run at the local level to a top-down approach controlled by partisan politicians and a newly politicized FEC.”

Specifically, Chaffetz said the Democrat-supported bill — which they coined the “For the People Act” — would ensure more election corruption by doing the following:
- Override voter ID requirements.
- Eliminate tools for detecting voter fraud.
- Nullify state laws.
- Impose sweeping limits on free speech.
- Turn control of the FEC over to partisans.
As BizPac Review reported, Democrats have a long history of voter fraud. In 2017, a Virginia man was sentenced to 100 days in jail for registering dead people as Democratic voters during the 2016 presidential election.
Andrew Spieles worked for Harrisonburg Votes, a Democratic Party-affiliated organization, when he committed his federal crimes.
Spieles was discovered after someone saw the name of a man he knew was dead on a voter registration form and called the police. Spieles later confessed that he falsified voter registration applications.
During the 2018 midterm elections, there were numerous instances of alleged voter fraud in Florida.
A judge ruled that Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes, a Democrat, violated state and federal laws by illegally destroying ballots for the 2016 Congressional race between her leftist ally, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Tim Canova, who ran as an Independent.
