MSNBC pundit: ‘I wonder if Pelosi thinks killing a man is an impeachable offense’

According to one of the frequent talking heads at MSNBC, which is already under fire for its increasingly extreme and non-reality based fear-mongering and conspiracy-theorizing, President Donald Trump killed billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

And you thought CNN was bad, huh!?

“I wonder if @SpeakerPelosi thinks killing a man is an impeachable offense,” talking head Elie Mystal reportedly tweeted Saturday afternoon, according to a screenshot captured by Mediaite.

The implication of the tweet seems clear: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should begin impeachment hearings against the president immediately because he killed — or at least played some role in the the death of — Epstein.

Mystal eventually deleted the tweet, though a whole host of other tweets that follow a somewhat similar thought pattern still remain up on Twitter.

Take a look:

Despite the hyperbole of his original tweet, Mystal wasn’t necessarily wrong about Epstein’s mysterious death being a potential “murder mystery.” Even those close to the deceased billionaire pedophile believe foul play may have been involved.

“People close to Epstein fear he was murdered … as Epstein told authorities someone tried to kill him in a previous incident weeks earlier. He was described as being in good spirits in recent days,” a reporter with The Washington Post has confirmed. “Remember previous incident July 23: it was never cleared up whether Epstein had been attacked, as he said, or if he was covering up his own suicide attempt.”

However, the jump from theorizing about a potential murder to accusing the president of committing that murder — and then dragging Pelosi into it — was a bit too much even for Mystal’s fellow anti-Trump leftists.

“He deserves to be impeached for being a white nationalist who invites violence or for obstructing justice or for profiting from his office or for any number of other flagrant offenses. Not for a conspiracy theory,” one exasperated leftist wrote in response to Mystal’s tweet.

To be clear, Trump isn’t a white nationalist, nor does he incite violence, obstruct justice or profit from his office. Still, at least the guy didn’t accuse the president of murder.

Look at this and other critical replies below:

In response to the backlash, Mystal eventually deleted the tweet and posted a clarification in which he claimed his critics were “willfully mischaracterizing my statements.” But this seemed like a cop-out, given as it was pretty clear what his original tweet meant.

It was likewise clear what he’d meant when he fantasized about the arrest of the president’s daughter Ivanka last year and when he declared unequivocally last week that he wants to see mobs with “pitchforks and torches” harass billionaire Stephen Ross outside of his home for having dared to be involved in a fundraiser for America’s duly elected president.

Yet despite Mystal’s endless conspiracy-theorizing and hyperbole — including his arguably insane claim last year that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation could lead to a “thousand-year Reich” by the Republican Party—- he still remains employed with MSNBC.

So does Joe Scarborough, an MSNBC host who theorized Saturday that the Russians — whom he’s previously suggested without evidence are in cahoots with the president — may have been responsible for Epstein’s death:

His theory appears to be that the Russians carried out a “hit” on Epstein on behalf of “[p]owerful Democratic and Republican figures.”

There’s only one problem with the theory: It seems like only powerful Democrats such as Bill Clinton, former New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former Sen. George Mitchell had something to gain from Epstein’s death.
