Billionaire Trump supporter, fitness chain investor doesn’t back down in face of boycotts from lib elites

Members of the perpetually aggrieved left are now boycotting the fitness chains SoulCycle and Equinox Fitness because the founder of their shared parent company, The Related Companies, happens to be a supporter of President Donald Trump.

This revelation about Stephen M. Ross, a billionaire real estate developer and philanthropist who owns the Miami Dolphins, was uncovered by The Washington Post, whose “reporters” and “journalists” have a history of siccing mobs on people who offend their far-left sensibilities.

“President Trump is slated to appear at a pair of fundraising events in the Hamptons on Friday, including one that charges up to $250,000 for lunch, a photo and a private roundtable with the president. … One event is scheduled to take place at the Southampton home of a New York real estate developer who owns the Miami Dolphins,” the left-wing outlet reported Tuesday.

A couple paragraphs down, the Post went ahead and named names.

“The Friday luncheon in Southampton is scheduled to take place at the home of New York real estate developer Stephen Ross and his wife, jewelry designer Kara Ross. Tickets are priced at $100,000 for a photo opportunity and lunch, and $250,000 for the package that includes the roundtable discussion, the invite shows,” the “report” reads.

Within hours of the story’s publication, outrage began to foment and the boycotts commenced. It’s now reached a point where even high-profile figures like Michael Moore have joined up.

“That’s it! Just cancelled my @SoulCycle membership!” the filmmaker tweeted Wednesday without providing any proof that he has or has ever had a gym membership.

Look at his and other tweets below (*Language warning):

The loser, as obscure comedy writer Mitra Jouhari described Ross, is worth $7.7 billion, has known the president for 40 years and has no intention of backing down.

“I always have been an active participant in the democratic process,” he reportedly said in a statement released through the Dolphins. “While some prefer to sit outside of the process and criticize, I prefer to engage directly and support the things I deeply care about.”

“I have known Donald Trump for 40 years, and while we agree on some issues, we strongly disagree on many others and I have never been bashful about expressing my opinions. I started my business with nothing and a reason for my engagement with our leaders is my deep concern for creating jobs and growing our country’s economy.”

“I have been, and will continue to be, an outspoken champion of racial equality, inclusion, diversity, public education and environmental sustainability, and I have and will continue to support leaders on both sides of the aisle to address these challenges.”

It just so happens that the president has been a boon for the economy, which may explain why Ross has chosen to support his reelection. What’s not as clear is why he felt the need to speak about “racial equality, inclusion, diversity, public education and environmental sustainability.” It does become clearer though when you look at some of the backlash he’s receiving:

Is it more clear now? The left falsely believes that the president is a racist, a bigot, a white supremacist, etc. Moreover, they’ve unfairly accused him of inspiring the El Paso shooting, despite the shooter’s left-wing political beliefs and non-conservative hatred of Hispanics.

And so Ross felt it necessary to signal to the public that he doesn’t support the president’s alleged racism and bigotry — he only supports his economic policies.

While any support is likely appreciated by the president, the fact remains that if Ross were a true Trump supporter, he wouldn’t buy into the left’s lies about the man. Just saying.
