Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman says deceased wife’s belongings were stolen, vows he’s ‘coming for’ the thugs who did it

Duane “Dog” Chapman’s latest criminal pursuit is more personal.

The star of the “Dog the Bounty Hunter” series is offering a reward for information on who is responsible for a store burglary in which his late wife’s personal things were stolen.

“The Bible says it is an unforgivable sin to steal from the dead,” Chapman said in a tweet on Friday. “LARGE CASH REWARD FOR ANY INFORMATION FIR WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS !!!”

The official Dog and Beth merchandise store in Edgewater, Colorado was broken into this week and personal items belonging to Beth Chapman, who died of cancer in June at the age of 51, were taken.

“Not only did the thieves take thousands of dollars of clothing, these criminals took priceless personal belongings of our beloved Beth, including tributes to her kindly left by our amazing fans,” a family spokesman said in a statement, according to CNN.

“We are working with our friends in law enforcement to find these perpetrators, and are offering a cash reward to anyone who provides information about their identity,” the statement read. “To who ever did this, you better watch out. Dog is coming for you.”

The store had been totally “ransacked,” according to The Blast which noted that Beth’s personal items “were arranged in the store as a makeshift memorial to the reality star and matriarch of the Chapman family.”

The outlet also posted the police dispatch audio.

Edgewater police arrived at the store Tuesday after reports of suspicious activity, found the door damaged and secured it after being unable to contact anyone from the business, according to KDVR-TV.  A member of Chapman’s team contacted the Edgewater Police Department on Thursday to report items were missing, including the personal ones.

The reality star and bounty hunter starred with his late wife in the series that documented their bounty hunting business from 2004 to 2012. From 2013 to 2015, the couple appeared in CMT’s “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt,” which also featured their son Leland.

An A&E special, “Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives,” chronicled Beth’s fight since she was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017. Though she was later declared cancer free, the disease returned last year and claimed her life. Chapman, 66, announced his wife’s death on Twitter last month from Hawaii, where the couple owned a home as well as the one in Colorado.

Her final battle with cancer will be highlighted in an upcoming “Dog’s Most Wanted” which will premiere on September 4.

“My wife is, was, and always will be the heart and soul of ‘Dog’s Most Wanted,'” Chapman said in a statement. “Beth wanted nothing more than for the show to go on, and I am so proud of the legacy that she left behind. She lived and died for this show, and she would be so proud of how hard we worked bringing these criminals to justice.”

“We are asking anyone with any information, possible cell phone video, or businesses that have cameras that might have captured any activity to call the Edgewater Police Department,” Public Information Officer Corporal Bob Brink said in a press release.
