A Democratic senator from Montana has a strong view of what beating President Donald Trump in 2020 should look like for his party.
Sen. Jon Tester urged Democrats looking to beat Trump in the 2020 race to “punch him in the face” in an interview on MSNBCâs âMorning Joeâ Thursday.

The lawmaker tweeted a portion of his interview with Joe Scarborough, declaring that “we should be able to disagree on policy without this hateful rhetoric.” But on the air, he had no problem delivering some “hateful’ and violent rhetoric of his own.
“Let me ask you, how much did Donald Trump win your state by?” Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough asked the Democrat who won reelection in 2018 in the state where Trump repeatedly campaigned for Republican challenger, Montana State Auditor Matt Rosendale.
Jon Tester says one thing to voters and does the EXACT OPPOSITE in Washington. Tester takes his orders form Pelosi & Schumer. Tester wants to raise your taxes, take away your 2A, open your borders, and deliver MOB RULE. Retire Tester & Elect America-First Patriot Matt Rosendale!

“I think he won by 21 points,” Tester responded.
“So he won by 21 points. You spoke out, you had no problem speaking out against racism in Charlottesville,” Scarborough said. “Youâve had no problem speaking out against his racist comments, even when supporting him on issues when you agree with those issues and you got reelected.”
âPlease, tell other Democrats how to do that going into 2020,â Scarborough said.
“Well, I think you donât take the bait that President Trump came out here,” Tester replied. âYou say that what he has done is absolutely disgraceful for the country and call it for what it is, which is racism. And then you talk about things like high costs of health care, high costs of higher education. What youâre going to do on the southern border to help stop the situations down there.”
These issues, Tester contended, are what “will move the folks who will get you elected.â
“I donât think, even in states where Donald Trump won big, that it does you any good running away from Donald Trump,” he said. “I think you need to go back and punch him in the face. I mean the truth is, this guy is bad for this country.”
Tester called for an end to the “hateful rhetoric” in a tweet with his interview. But the Montana Democrat seemed to have conveniently left off the portion of the clip where he calls for the president of the United States to be punched in the face.
Whyâd you cut out the part of you saying people should punch @realDonaldTrump in face coward? Donât edit that out, own it, youâre inciting physical violence against our @POTUS pic.twitter.com/yzUKVextEw

“The radical left is out of actual ways to beat Donald Trump and is turning now to violence? Really?” Gregg Jarrett said on Fox Business’ “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” reacting to the clip of Tester’s response.
“Punch him in the face. The president of the United States, yes, punch him in the face,” Jarrett said after playing the video of the senator. “Classy guy. And of course host Joe Scarborough completely ignored the comment.”
Tester was slammed on Twitter for his hypocrisy.
Funny, Democrats are upset and worried for Ilhan Omar’s safety because of words Trump said…
And yet, we have pundits inviting physical violence on a U.S. President amd no one says a word on the Left.
Hypocrisy at its finest.#IStandWithPresTrump

Was that before or after you suggested people should punch the president in the face, John Tester? You should be investigated and recalled for your call to violence against a sitting President. #Disgrace

I heard you inciting violence.

You coward. Tell America what you edited out.

Ashamed of you. Suggesting people punch the @POTUS in the face is beyond hateful, but, of course this is why you put up this post instead of apologizing for your hateful, offensive violence inciting rhetoric against the leader of the free world.
