The left’s new-sprung boycott on Home Depot has inspired anger in the president.
“A truly great, patriotic & charitable man, Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot who, at the age of 90, is coming under attack by the Radical Left Democrats with one of their often used weapons,” he tweeted Tuesday evening, roughly a day after the boycott began.
“They don’t want people to shop at those GREAT stores because he contributed to your favorite President, me! These people are vicious and totally crazed, but remember, there are far more great people (“Deplorables”) in this country, than bad. Do to them what they do to you. Fight for Bernie Marcus and Home Depot!”

The boycott started earlier this week after a roughly two-week old interview went viral. Speaking with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in late June, Home Depot co-founder Bernard Marcus said that he plans to support Trump’s reelection bid.
“[H]e was a top contributor to Donald Trump during his presidential run. And Marcus told the AJC that he plans to support the president’s re-election bid,” the outlet reported.
“While Trump ‘sucks’ at communication, Marcus said, the president deserves praise for boosting U.S. jobs, confronting China on trade and taking action against Iranian and North Korean aggression.”
“He’s got a businessman’s common sense approach to most things,” Marcus himself said of the president’s strengths. “Now, do I agree with every move that he makes? No, I don’t. But the truth is he has produced more than anybody else. He has. If we look at this country, I would say that we are better off today than we were eight years ago or six years ago.”
That’s likely why Marcus supports the president’s election bid — because his policies have been a boon to the economy and thus a boon to retailers like Home Depot, not to mention their employees.
But none of this appeared to matter to members of the radical left. When they became aware of the interview earlier this week, they threw a fit and began proclaiming that Home Depot is dead to them:
Home Depot, you’re dead to me. #BoycottHomeDepot

Oh hell NO!!! Cutting my ties with Home Depot. You’re dead to me! Not shopping here or any company I find out that does business with trump and his children detention camps. Looking at you @Wayfair @WellsFargo @BankofAmerica

@homedepot supports racism and elitism. Trump’s tax cut out millions in their pockets. They are dead to me. @Lowes what’s your take on Trump? #BoycottHomeDepot

To be fair, conservatives have responded similarly to Nike’s recent antics. There is one notable difference, though. Conservatives have been responding to footwear and apparel retailer’s stunning attacks on America. Liberals, on the other hand, have been responding to Home Depot’s support of the United States’ duly elected president. That’s a big, big, big difference.
Moreover, and this is important, conservatives have been responding to Nike itself. It’s the company that chose disgraced, anti-American former NFL star Colin Kaepernick to be its representative. It’s the company that chose to abandon a pro-American shoe idea because of grievance mongers like Kaepernick.
In the case of Home Depot, the left is responding to the personal donations of a co-founder — one who retired from the company’s board of directors 17 years ago. So by trying to stick it to Marcus by boycotting Home Depot, these activists are also hurting the company’s other co-founders, including fellow anti-Trumper and pro-Democrat Arthur Blank.
Fact check: While many are upset with #HomeDepot co-founder Bernie Marcus contributing to the #Trump campaign, it’s worth noting that the other Home Depot founder, Arthur Blank (Falcons owner), contributed thousands to Hillary’s campaign in 2016. #HomeDepotBoycott

The point is that the left’s boycott is highly irrational. But as noted by the president, it’s also part of a wider campaign by the left to hurt their “Enemy,” as he put it.
“More and more the Radical Left is using Commerce to hurt their ‘Enemy,'” he wrote in an additional tweet Tuesday evening. “They put out the name of a store, brand or company, and ask their so-called followers not to do business there. They don’t care who gets hurt, but also don’t understand that two can play that game!”

Not that their game will be a success. If anything, the left’s boycott already appears to be backfiring:
Dear Fascist, the people who shop at #HomeDepot are the people who elected Trump. Just like Chick-fil-A, Home Depot’s sales will probably rise. ?

My local home depot was still crowded at 8:30 this evening. Thanks to our great economy under you, there is much more construction jobs & home improvements being done!
— Bar?me?? (@1960barbie) July 10, 2019
Home Depot is so crowded no one will notice. In fact the so called boycott is by limp wrists mechanical invalids that don’t have the skill sets to do anything on home improvements or anything worthwhile when it comes to hard work. So stay home ! https://t.co/yvVlrP6gHi

Get to Home Depot early today because it will be crowded https://t.co/06CVJEb6Hl

I’m going to Home Depot today and buy some items because of this attack by the radical left. https://t.co/s9twScqTc2
