Anti-Semitism appears to be spreading through the Democrat Party faster than the Ebola virus.
Only two months after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi chose a militant anti-Semitic imam to deliver the opening prayer in the U.S. House, word broke that one of Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s campaign staffers is allegedly a raging anti-Semite.
While the proof is legion, the one that cropped up Monday was a since-deleted tweet posted six years ago by Warren staffer Max Berger. In that tweet, the left-wing activist appeared to express support for the terrorist group Hamas.
“Confession: I would totally be friends with Hamas,” he’d written on Feb 20, 2013.

After this tweet went viral Monday, the left-wing propaganda outfit Media Matters rushed to Berger’s defense by positing that the remark had been a joke.
As proof, the veritable hate group called attention to a New York Daily News article posted on Feb 20, 2013, that was titled “‘Friends of Hamas’: My role in the birth of a rumor.”
Written by “journalist” Dan Friedman, the story recounted how a rumor about a fictitious pro-Hamas organization known as “Friends of Hamas” had gone viral because of him.
In light of this story, it does appear that Berger’s tweet may have been a joke. However, what’s not at all amusing is his extensive history of verified anti-Semitism.
“Berger, who identifies himself as a Justice Democrat, is no stranger to controversy when it comes to Israel,” the Washington Free Beacon notes. “He is the cofounder of the far left group IfNotNow, alongside Simone Zimmerman, the infamous Bernie Sanders Jewish outreach director forced to resign over an expletive-laden Facebook post condemning Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. IfNotNow routinely criticizes Israel and accuses it of crimes in the Palestinian territories.”
According to the Jewish Press, IfNotNow — the group Berger helped launch — is a staunch supporter of notorious anti-Semitic Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and played a role convincing congressional Democrats to not condemn the congresswoman for her anti-Semitism earlier this year. Notorious anti-Semite Linda Sarsour also reportedly helped in these efforts.

And according to the Canary Mission, an online Wikipedia of sorts for anti-Semitism, Berger has – over the course of his career as a left-wing activist – “spread hatred of Israel, protested against the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), demonized pro-Israel American Jews and promoted INN-organized ‘Liberation Seders.’ He has also defended anti-Israel agitators and supported the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.”
He’s also repeatedly tweeted support for Hamas-organized protests.
“The violence of the past few weeks at the Gaza border is truly sickening. But, the protestors will to resist the oppression they face gives me hope,” he reportedly wrote after Hamas organized a protest in May of 2018 against the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.
Unfortunately, a number of Palestinian protesters had to be shot and killed during the protest. Officials with the Israel Defense Forces explained at the time that to not fight back would have meant submitting to potential annihilation.
“Hamas [which controls Gaza] plans to carry out a massacre in Israel. The Israel Defense Forces will not let them,” a spokesperson said.
After the protests, Berger then criticized a hash of Democrat presidential candidates for not condemning Israel for having stood up for itself.
“It’s disappointing that potential Dem Presidential contenders @CoryBooker, @SenGillibrand, @KamalaHarris, @JoeBiden have yet to condemn Israel’s massacre in Gaza,” he reportedly wrote.
So yes, the tweet about being friends with Hamas may be a joke — though that’s just a theory. But, as one Twitter user noted, this isn’t “about the single tweet; it’s about a pattern.”
It’s not about the single tweet; it’s about a pattern of defamatory denouncing of Israel as well as holier-than-thou positioning against the majority of fellow Jews who support Israel. https://t.co/ufB2HQo3eL

And then there’s this beaut that Berger tweeted just this past January:
“Israel is not a real democracy. Israel is like the south before 1963: millions of people under Israeli control are denied the right to vote, speak freely or assemble because of their ethnicity. It’s a democracy for Jews only. That’s not a real democracy.”
Israel is so friendly to other peoples and religions that present-day Jerusalem contains a special sector (known as the Old City) that is divided into four quarters: the Muslim Quarter, the Christian Quarter, the Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter.
This setup allows every major religious group living in the area to worship on this holiest of lands. Good luck finding any similar setup in the Muslim-only West Bank and Gaza Strip …
Berger’s one tweet from 2013 may have been a joke — though that seems dubious given his history of anti-Semitism — but his support for Hamas and its mission are clear-cut.
“Anyone who wants to be friendly with Hamas has no business being in a presidential campaign. It’s very straightforward,” Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said to the Free Beacon.
“If that’s the message that Elizabeth Warren wants to send to Jewish progressives and the rest of the American Jewish community, that the person she put in charge of outreach wants to be friends with Hamas, no way. She’s going to have to deal with this right now.”
