RNC launches ‘Dem Debate Bingo’ to highlight leftist extremism, and to help keep your ‘sanity’

Moderators Maddow and Todd lost control when a technical glitch temporarily derailed the debates. Screengrab.

Ahead of the circular firing squad that was part one of the Democratic primary debates, the Republican National Committee released a ‘bingo card” to help “keep some level of sanity” during the event.

As the first 10 2020 contenders took the stage in Miami, Florida Wednesday evening, the RNC predicted they would “finally give Americans a glimpse of just how far to the left the Democrat Party has moved.”

From government takeover of health care, taxpayer funding of health care for illegal immigrants, to the Green New Deal, tax increases and open-borders immigration policies, the topics to be covered in the debate would prove to be very interesting.

Anticipated issue squares on the RNC’s “Democrat Debate BINGO” included topics such as impeachment of President Trump, the economy and the “ultra-millionaire tax,” as well as government-run healthcare – an issue which sparked a heated back-and-forth between the candidates after only two of them raised their hands to say they support abolishing private health insurance in favor of a government-run plan.

While “Fauxcahontas” was one of the topic squares on the Bingo card, it seemed Massachusetts Sen, Elizabeth Warren’s false heritage claim didn’t make as much of an impact as the impression that she was being favored by the debate moderators.

Many social media users wondered aloud why Warren was being treated as a “frontrunner” already by getting what seemed like the majority of the questions and little pushback.

A “free space” on the RNC Bingo card was the wildcard square in the center which was for any mention of Trump.

“This one is a given – no sourcing required. You’ll probably hear President Trump’s name tonight more than any of the 2020 Democrats running for office. Sad!” the RNC said.

In fact, NBC News kept a running count of how many times the president’s name was invoked by each of the 10 candidates on Wednesday.

“On a crowded debate stage with limited speaking time, the 2020 Democratic candidates will be faced with a choice as they introduce themselves to the public: push their own policy agenda or try to score points by attacking the president,” NBC News noted.

Several of the Bingo topics were not even covered Wednesday evening, making for what some – like Trump – saw as a very “boring” debate.

Notably missing from the Bingo card – and what nearly no one would have anticipated – was a “Spanish speaking’ cube. Moderator José Diaz-Balart asked Beto O’Rourke a question entirely in Spanish after the former Texas congressman became the first contender of the night to answer a question partially in Spanish.

Sen. Cory Booker added to the confusion with his pandering attempt, but won the night with his viral expression during O’Rourke’s comments. Perhaps the Bingo card should have adjusted the “Spartacus” cube to include any and all entertainment from the New Jersey Democrat.

Perhaps an updated version of the Bongo card could include a “technical issue” block as the liberal outlets running the debates are sure to face more incidents like the one Trump slammed as “truly unprofessional.”

“You know, we’ve prepared for everything,” moderator Rachel Maddow said.

“We did not prepare for this,” she said, referring to the interruption of the debate when the voices of the first hour’s moderators Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie and Jose Diaz-Balart could be heard because their microphones were not turned off.

And while the president used the gaffe as an opportunity to slam the network’s “unprofessional” mistake, his son pointed to an even more telling takeaway.

“Watching the bewilderment and fear in the Dem candidates faces with some minor technical difficulties shows you all you need to know about how they would likely handle real issues would face as leader of the free world,” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted. “Imagine them in the situation room? Scary!!!”
