President Donald Trump revealed that he will be announcing his 2020 reelection campaign in a “historic rally” that he teased in a message on Twitter.

Trump made the announcement about his 2020 presidential run in a tweet on Friday, adding a link to register for the event scheduled in Orlando, Florida next month.

“I will be announcing my Second Term Presidential Run with First Lady Melania, Vice President Mike Pence, and Second Lady Karen Pence on June 18th in Orlando, Florida, at the 20,000 seat Amway Center. Join us for this Historic Rally!” Trump tweeted.

The 2020 campaign kick-off will be a radical departure from Trump’s 2015 announcement in which he famously declared, “I am officially running for president of the United States, and we are going to make our country great again,” from Trump Tower on New York’s Fifth Avenue.

Pledging to be “the greatest jobs president that God ever created,” Trump spoke after a brief rendition of Neil Young’s song “Rockin’ In The Free World” was played.

Trump enters the 2020 race in a crowded field of Democratic contenders, with nearly two dozen Democrats already vying for their Party’s nomination, including former Vice President Joe Biden who announced his run last month.

Progressive New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, California Democratic Sen. Kamala Harris, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke has officially declared their candidacies and joined others such as Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, California Rep. Eric Swalwell, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg – who is looking to become the nation’s first openly gay president.

Trump will be making his announcement amid his highest approval rating in two years, according to a new  Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll.

With voters feeling confident in the economy, the survey indicated that 48 percent approve of the job the president has been doing, his highest rating by the Harvard poll since June 2017, according to The Hill. And while his disapproval rating was only slightly higher, at 52 percent, the approval number showed an increase since March when 45 percent of voters gave him a favorable rating.

A record 62 percent of those surveyed approved of Trump’s approach to employment while 59 percent gave him high marks for his handling of the economy. The poll, which was conducted between May 29 and 30, revealed another remarkable number with 71 percent of voters considering the economy as “strong” or “very strong.”

“People’s views on the economy are gradually pushing Trump’s numbers up and his actions on other issues like China and immigration are neutral to positive,” Mark Penn, the co-director of the Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll, said.

The April jobs report from the Department of Labor revealed 263,000 jobs had been added and the unemployment rate fell to 3.6 percent –  the lowest level in 50 years.

Penn indicated that Trump’s high approval numbers spell good news for 2020, just as the president gets set to announce his run next month.

“Every point of increase in this range of 45 to 50 improves the possibility of re-election,” Penn said.
